I was laughing my butt off reading Garza's thread. So, I thought I would post a couple of past episodes.
A guy at my old club ran out of shells and got down to go get his buck. It was still alive when he got there and he swears he smothered the deer with his coat.
I had one jump string one time on a bow shot and I cut both rear hamstrings (the white thing you try not to cut when you hang them up) and I was trying to run her down to shoot again. She was still about as fast as I was and that was funny as crap. Now not then. About the time I could get knocked and drawn she would take off again for 70 yards at a time. She had 5 arrows in her before succumbing. Looked like a pin cushion
A coworker swears this story is true. Shot a deer with a Woodsmaster 742 and he went to retrieve the buck. Deer was not dead and coming back to life. As usual, the gun was jammed. So he takes his pull up rope and ties it around the antlers since the deer is coming to life. Deer is really getting active so he is being pulled by the deer so he gets the rope wrapped around a tree and ties the deer to the tree. Deer is not 100% but very active. Retrieves his gun, has to pry out the hull with his knife and eventually shoots the deer. Didn't see two of these but can vouch that both guys are usually honest.
I've finished off more with a knife than I would care to admit. A loud bellowing deer sounds terrible. Y'all fess up.

While I've never had to kill one with a knife, I dropped this big buck when I was young at 30 yards, and because I didn't want to lose it as well as was so excited, every time it flinched (due to adrenaline) I would put another round in him. I was so young and this was the biggest buck I've seen at that point that I didn't know about adrenaline and all, so I ended up putting an entire clip into the buck at 30 yards cause there ain't no way that I was gonna lose that buck! lol
I'll add a funny one...I was in a big club in college, and I decided to hunt one side of this ridge while my brother was on the other side of it. I look and here comes this nice 8 pointer that walked right up to me, and I shot it at 30 yards sitting on the ground. The buck ran down to the bottom and crashed, so I walked down there after he stopped twitching (no I didn't lay into him lol) and low and behold he died directly in front of some guy in the clubs trail camera! What did I do? Held his head up and smiled waiting for the next picture! Never found out whose it was but cracks me up just thinking about it!

Was young and dumb when I shot a buck it was a graze on the spine, I thought he was dead. Loaded him up and was going down the road and he raised his head up and started bawling, scared me to death. Got my knife out and tried to kill him but didn't work so I grabbed my shotgun and finished him off. LOL

About 10 years ago, two of my buddy's hit a yearling in locust fork.. It didn't kill it, just had it bad disoriented. They catch it, wrestle it down and hog tie it with their belts. They then pack it into the back of his GF toyota paseo they are driving and bring it back to tarrant city.
We are hanging out at another buddy's house when they come wheeling up and claiming to have a live deer in the trunk.. Naturally we called BS but sure enough, they had a deer. They shot it and it ate pretty good

My great Aunt and Uncle lived on a 40 acre farm in Owassa Alabama. There house was surrounded by pea fields. My great uncle "uncle pete" always kept a 30-30 in the kitchen and would regularly shoot deer out of his kitchen window. well one day a big doe stepped out around lunch time and Uncle pete opened up the window and smacked her the doe dropped right in her tracks. Well when he went and took a rope out there to tie up the deer and when he did the deer jumped up and took off and drug uncle pete about 20 feet before the deer fell over again. Uncle pete shot the deer with his 357 before it could get up again.
I have no idea if this story is true but My aunt says she saw it happen from the kitchen window So i have no reason not to believe them.
There are a lot of crazy stories I've heard about my grandpa and uncle pete over the years I could tell but thats another thread for another day.

The doe i shot in bow season i spined. Got down knife was in the truck and she was trying to drag herself away. I grabbed a 6" or so log bout 4' long and beat her to death with it. Hated to do it but didn't want her to suffer anymore.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I've killed a lot of deer over the years but the one that stands out for me is a big nine point that I killed with my bow. He's the only deer that has ever tried to get me. Now I've shot deer with bow and gun that have ran towards me because they didn't know where the shots came from but he was different. I was hunting a food plot on the edge of a clear cut with thick pines about 20' tall to my left. This deer came out of the pines at 200 yards and started across the clear cut. I grunted to him a couple times and he made a bee line right to me. When he hit the edge of the patch he knew something was up and headed back toward the pines. I knew it was now or never and took the shot. He was about 50 yards and walking fast and I didn't lead him and hit him in the hip. I could see blood pumping out as he ran into the pines and decided since it was 3:30 pm that I would look for him while it was light enough I could see. I figured he would lay up pretty quick. Plan was to go slow and try to find him before he saw me. About 50 yards in I found him and he was still alive. I had taken my release off because I figured if I found him I would have to shoot quick and close. He was quartered hard away and my second arrow only got one lung. He ran about 10 yards and stopped. I moved up until I was maybe 10 yards from him and this shot double lunged him. Evidently he had had enough of me and came straight at me with his head down like a charging bull and making a bubbling gurgling bellowing sound. I froze. Now let me tell you a deer can cover 10 yards before you know it. He would have had me but his rack got tangled in some vines that spun him sideways and he fell down just feet from me. Matter of fact he was so close that he almost kicked me when he spun around. It was at this point that my feet started working again and decided to put some distance between us. Had it not been for the vines things would have turned out a lot different. I'll probably never run into another one with his attitude and I laugh about it now but in those few moments it scared the hell out of me.

Killed several with a knife, few with a pistol,1 with a shovel,1 with a claw hammer, 2 with a stick, and broke ones kneck. The 1 i broke its kneck was a small doe an i was 14, shot all my bullets at her an had no knife so i did what i did. Had one come to on a helicopter captute where we were permitted to terminate deer and the feller shootin just addled a doe ans she whooped me an another feller so i busted her in the head with a shovel..all i had at the time. Had to kill a buch of does and i was the designated deer gutter..they pulled up and cominced to pitchin deer out of the truck and a doe fawn that had apparently just been grazed jumped up half addled and proceeded to try to escape. I hadnt even unlocked the chop house door so i didnt have a knife yet..but they was an estwing hammer hung in the fork of a small mesquite close by so i grabbed hammer an run it down gave it a good whack, an then a couple more for good measure. I do t like havin to do things like that but as garza has shown sometimes you do what you have to. Tho ive matured some and i try to keep a knife or rather a pistol nearby.
