Why you have the screen on there though? Blocking all the heat. I started fire with old tax records and fire was popping.

I just put an insert in mine best thing ive ever done. I miss the way the open flames look but my heat pum aint kicked on in bout 3 days. Average temp is 75 degrees in my house.

I love an open firefplace, Ive had open fireplaces, Buck Stoves and a Hardy Heater. Just cant beat a masonry fireplace.
