We posted same time, I think people complain that the buttons are not as easy to use or something on the Hornady like the trickle, etc.

Not sure that is a real issue. The straw trick works the same as the RCBS I believe to get it to throw more accurate charges. You can always finish with your regular trickle.

Darn right. They are fantastic and the Chargemaster is a must have for reloading.

There's a thread in the big game rifles loading forum right now at 24hourcampfire titled "disappointed with RCBS". The guy's Chargemaster quit working. RCBS told him that after the one year warranty,he would need to buy another.

I can weigh the difference between two granules of any powder I've used on my Ohaus 10-10 scale. That's accurate enough for me. Maybe I just don't trust electronics.

My ChargeMaster and GemPro250 shows a difference between one grain. I don't trust beam type scales from what I've seen.

I'm sure you mean one granule of powder, rather than one grain. I'm just the opposite in that I don't trust the electronic. I figure the simpler, the less that can go wrong.

Just ordered the new Lyman Gen 6, I've wanted the RCBS but never seen a low price. I'm hoping it will do, STEEL shotshell powder is notoriously hard to meter, with drops swinging 2-4 grains at times. Nothing like hand weighing each shotshell while reloading.

Just had a part break on mine, long story not my fault however, called them up and told them what happened and they shipped me the new part on their dime. Actually they sent me two parts so now I have a spare. Mine is two years old and hasn't missed a lick.

Glad to hear the good reports. I didn't mean to sound so negative about it. It's just something I think about since I've blown money on lots of electronic gadgets that didn't last long.

And not just on the ChargeMaster, either. Everytime I've called them about ordering a part that I broke(I was at fault and told them so) they've always shipped it to me for free and wouldn't let me pay for it. I'd be hard pressed to leave a company that's treated me that way.

Best money I've spent for reloading. I still verify on a beam scale from time to time but I've never had an issue.

RH Clark. In my opinion there's a whole lot of pissy whiny Yankees on 24hr. It can be a knowledgeable place but far more pissyness than positive.

Maybe so,I didn't take it that way or mean that the Chargemaster wasn't necessarily a good tool.I probably analyze everything way too much,so I do have a tendency to give the negative if everyone is giving the positive. I don't do it because I think the negative outweighs the positive. I just do it because it's the way I think, weighing both sides. All I wanted was to make anyone aware of all sides,so they could make an educated decision.

I've heard that using them under fluorescent lights causes them to act up. Any truth to that?

I got one last Christmas and it is a massive time saver to not have to weigh out individual charges, then trickle the powder to make weight. Love mine. I can load up larger lots for the range in so much less time.

I had a part go missing on my RCBS priming tool and they sent out a replacement immediately at no cost, so I would rate my one customer service experience as excellent.

As to the fluorescent light question above, any kind of magnetic or electrical field (including static -- see plastic loading blocks) has the potential to interfere with a digital scale. I have fluorescent lights high on the ceiling in the garage with no noticeable issue. I imagine these items would have to be close to the scale to possibly cause an issue. I had read about this somewhere, but I have never experienced it firsthand, thankfully.

Yeah, I figured as much. I hung a 4' shop light on the reloading bench I built using two pieces of 1/2" EMT bent into swept 90s. They hang the light over my bench pretty close. I am about to retrofit it to LEDs anyway which I don't think would have the potential to affect it as much.

My new Lyman Gen 6 is speeding up my reloading of Steel Shot Shells. Probably reloading shells at least twice as fast if not faster.

Wished I bought it years ago.

I'm gonna have to decide if I want another scale for my pact or get a chargemaster I guess, after many years my pact scale won't calibrate anymore. It's gotta be 14 or so years old maybe a little more I don't remember and I promise it's been used heavy

I still after all this years check my dispensed charges often on a Lee safety scale from the pact but it's always been stupid close
