It is a pretty decent movie about a female Ukrainian sniper. She was tough as all get out.

Lyudmila Mykhailovna Pavlichenko was a Ukrainian Red Army Soviet sniper during World War II. Credited with 309 kills, she is regarded as one of the top military snipers of all time and the most successful female sniper in history.

If you can find it, read the book Marine Sniper, about Carlos Hathcock.
I think it's in that book where they talk about a ruthless female viet cong sniper and interrogator. I've heard stories attributed to her, that will give you chills, if they're true.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

She was called the Apache I believe. Shot her twice..the second was because he thought she deserved it not that the first didn't do the job

It was the Cobra that hunted Hathcock and Hathcock shot through the cobras scope for the kill..said it didn't do his eyesight any good in that eye

She never hunted him. You are thinking about a Vietnamese male sniper and Hathcock supposedly shop him through the scope and through his eye.

The chick you are talking about was a notorious Vietnamese torturer and he caught her out taking a dump and took her apart limb by limb with a .308 Remington if I remember correctly.

It is a good movie. That chick was a legit bad ass. Of course during that time the Russians needed everyone to be a bad ass, because a bunch of crazy Nazi's jacked up on methamphetamine were storming across their country destroying every damn thing in their path.

The Russians don't get enough credit for their sacrifice during WWII from Americans. We tend to think we kicked the German's asses, but in reality without the Russians we wound't have stood a chance in Europe.

"Enemy at the Gates" is another great Russian Sniper movie based on a true story about an average Russian soldier who becomes Russia's greatest sniper. One of my top 5 favorite war movies.

Nor would the Russians been able to finish the job if the western front had not have been opened up by the Americans and English. With the fading of the veterans, only now are people saying how the Russians "won" the war.

It be's that way sometimes.

I wasn't implying that "the Russians won the war" I was implying that without them we would have got our asses kicked when we tried to land in Normandy against the full might of the Wehrmacht. We needed the Russians and they needed us to take some of the pressure off of them. However that said, the Russian winter and and the Russians actually being able to fight in it better than the Germans played at part in that as well. The Germans were as ill-prepared for that winter as Napoleon's Grand Army in the winter of 1812. Both ended in disaster and defeat for the aggressors.

It is very difficult to fight a war on multiple fronts. It is even more difficult when you are ill-equipped for the weather and and your supply lines are long.

All that said, the Russians fought hard and had a lot of heros of their own during that war, despite that fact that they were under an oppressive communist dictatorship. All the Russians I have ever met were good decent people.

Enjoyed the movie. Feel like it supports the argument for keeping women out of combat. She was a great soldier but gender-based emotions held her back. Not sure if that was factual or movie-related, TBH.

She couldn't even make her first shot/kill without the blood of her fellow soldier splashing on her face.
