It should be against the 2 teams without losses... You can't say Houston strength of schedule is keeping them out when Alabama played:
Kent State North Texas Vandi Tennessee Mississippi Ole Miss Georgia Southern Auburn
Problem is Houston isn't sexy. It's all about rating and nobody in America outside of Gump Nation wants to watch the most boring game of the year played over again....

Archaic, I agree Alabama's competition wasn't any where near what lsu played but outside of losing to lsu they didn't have much trouble with who they did play.
Houston shouldn't even be in the conversation. I'm not really sure how anyone could make the argument that Alabama isn't the second best team in the country.
What some thought was a boring game I thought was a fantastic battle. Lsu came out on top and look to be stronger now than ever. I expect them to beat Alabama a little easier this time but I can't imagine anyone else giving lsu a better game.

Have you looked through Houston's schedule, taking note of who they've beaten this year? Or are you REALLY as stupid as you're sounding right now?

Alabama has the #2 rated SOS in the nation. Houston in 75th. If it was any team other than Alabama, most Aubies would think differently. But that is what we have. Honestly, I don't know if they deserve another chance - but the problem is that I can't think of another team that is more deserving. Source for SOS: SOS Rankings

What about the other teams on the schedule. Penn State, Arkansas, Florida? Alabama has played 7 bowl teams and a 9-2 Georgia Southern Team. There opponent's records are 81-60. OK State is the only team anyone say should go over Alabama. They have played 8 bowl teams. Their opponent's record (including Oklahoma) is 79-61. Alabama lost by 3 to a 12-0 team. OK State lost as double digit favorites to Iowa State (6-5). Remember the team all the Auburn fans said "No one could win there!" I think I would put money on Georgia Southern against Kansas, La. Lafayette and Arizona. A rematch is not the greatest thing out there, But, what one lose team is better than Alabama? Also, since when did scoring equal a good game? Maybe you are a closet Big 12, Pac 12 fan.

I just looked at Alabama's schedule again and all I can say is wow! When they made that schedule they had no way of knowing TN, FL, AU and the miss schools would be that bad this year. The only impressive win they had was Ark but they beat the others pretty convincingly. Still doubt the other top teams played any tougher schedule other than lsu.

Granted LSU still has to play Georgia, but LSU played all of those same "bad" teams. Other than Oregon and West Virginia (8-3 in the weak Big East), their schedule is not looking so killer either next to Alabama's. Vanderbilt > Kentucky this year, so LSU came out on the good side of that pick of teams from the SEC East.

Lsu has 4 big wins. WV, Oregon, Ark and Alabama. Their schedule was by far the most difficult. I have no doubt bama would have won those games too , though.

The bottom line is that the championship game should be played by the two best teams and LSU and Alabama are clearly the two beat teams. I understand Bama had their chance but when all the dust has settled they are still considerably better than whoever you think is number 3.

Funny thing with all of the politicing going on there is a chance we will never know if Alabama is number 3 or lower. Good reason for a playoff system. I still think LSU should be awarded the SEC champs and Alabama and Georgia play for the consolation prize of almost good enough, instead of a one loss team getting a short cut to play the conference champion. After all there is a reason there are conferences and conference champions. If Alabama and LSU do play for the BCS NC, I could see a mutiny happening with the other BCS conferences, so you may see another conference get thrown a bone and Alabama bypassed.

There wasn't a mutiny in 2001 when Nebraska sat at home while Colorado represented the North in the Big 12 CG, then NU got the BCSCG bid. Not sure why you think there could be one now, other than the obvious.

What is the number of SEC wins in the last 5 years, oh yeah 5, if LSU and Alabama plays that guarantees a 6th and not to mention the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ associated with it to the SEC. Think maybe some other conferences want a chance at some of the cash? Or, maybe we can just proclaim that the winner of the SEC is the NC, oh but wait a minute that would leave Alabama out wouldn't it? Yep, a playoff system is the best way to make sure it is settled on the field, but that doesn't let the subjective come into play so some team can be annointed like in the past.

All of the BCS bowls pay the same, including the BCSNC game. Bama is a virtual certainty to get a BCS bid regardless of whether it's the BCSNC or not, so there's nothing anyone can do to stop the flow of money.
The last two sentences of your post pretty much reads as severe redass about the near certainty of Alabama playing for the national championship. It's going to really hurt if Bama adds another, isn't it?

Unlike some the sun will come up the next day no matter the outcome and I can just about guarantee not a single person on this site will have had a single thing to do with what happens on the field, but I am sure will brag and thump their chest over it like they were the one that kicked the winning field goal. Let me change that last line, like they scored the winning touchdown. Just be careful because if/when LSU wins the cajuns probably will not take lightly the destruction of property on their campus.
