Pretty cat, but kinda sad his friend sat there Don't think they were friends, they were fighting like heck all evening, I thought it was dogs growling in the thicket until they finally stepped out.

It's amazing how fast an arrow can kill, I'd say he was dead in 3 to 4 seconds. He made about a 20 yard death run before he flipped, then dead right there. Heck, I think I'll kill him with the same arrow!

You are supposed to get a tag if you mount it or keep it. I believe it is called a cites tag. If you just toss it there is really no need for the tag. Man I didnt know that. Thanks for that info. Now if I shoot one Ill know that before I get him mounted to have him tagged. Thanks!

You have 14 days I believe to report it. I think you have to take it in or meet a GW to tag it.

If you are not keeping the animal or any part of it, you do not tag it, as long as you dispose of it by legal means. ( burying it on your own private land or pay to dispose of it in a landfill) Thanks, Robinhedd

Interesting. I've always been told they had to be tagged regardless. Thanks for the info Robinhedd.

For future reference if you do keep the pelt and need the tag, you can call your local gw office and they will take your license number and mail the tag to you.
