Or run a can of Seafoam through it....run it couple 100 miles...change oil and do it again. Helped my 04 GMC. Oil pressure was on the low end. After Seafoaming twice, my oil pressure came up to normal pressures.

The reason I said o-ring is because it's a common issue with them cracking not allowing adequate pressure to build. I'm not saying seafoam won't fix it, I'm just recommending trying it if he wants to keep the truck.
