He was literally 8' away from me before he announced himself. Until then, I didn't even know he was there. Scared the crap out of me. He's a member here too.

I can't remember his screen name but it was Officer Shawn Nixon. Very nice guy. Gave me his cell number should I ever need him.

I've had the GW on camera twice in Alabama. Luckily for me they didn't mess with my cameras or any of my stuff. Guess if your on the up and up no reason to snag your card

Well,
That’s some bullcrap. It doesn’t surprise me though. They can do anything they want until someone catches them and calls them out on it.
Still not legal though.

If you're trying to catch someone, you don't need them to know you've been there. I don't see the problem with them deleting cards. They're not stealing anything.

that's crap. ^^^ They most certainly are stealing from you...if that's your camera. That's the owners image...not the one the pic is taken of.

Well, I can tell you this. 4 of my cams are camo'd, the other 6 are not and cards were not deleted. But I do want to mention, the 4 camo'd are in the woods, one on a persimmon tree where he posed unknowingly. The other 6 are on plots, can see plain as day.

Maybe this........and I'm just talkin....... If your a good boy, you don't get a deleted card. If you're a bad boy and he's coming back to bust you, prob going to get a deleted card. Is that what you mean ? Not saying its right.
But as I stated in my other thread, it ain't hard to spot a camera ESPECIALLY if its got a horizontal strap in a vertical world (at that height).

They wiped my card. I know it was the GW because it is a cell camera and the pic was sent to me. He came through my back gate from another property. When i checked the camera i only had a few pics on the card. At first it didnt bother me but i got to thinking the camera is my personal property and he was tampering with it. Not a huge deal but i have put solar chargers on the 2 at my gates and mounted them 15 foot up and put padlocks on the doors of all of my cameras.
I have nothing to hide from the GW or anyone else for that matter but it has always put a bad taste is my mouth for anyone to have the right to be on my property unannounced and for no probable cause. But it is what it is.

Unless you had it over 3 bags of corn and one ricebran.

Then you’re out $35 in pictures

Edit: Hypothetically of course

Good boy bad boy, it don't matter. Camera isn't his property. Heck, there were pics showing you had that once in a lifetime deer working your area and poof, delete all button is pushed. You missed out. Or maybe you had one of those really unique, once in a lifetime - win $10k in a photo contest pics on there...poof, delete all - it's gone. Or maybe, in his haste, he don't shut the door after deleting all and your $300 camera is ruined. It ain't his, it ain't on public property, he shouldn't be touching it.

I got a Gw on my main gate cell camera last year. I was in my kitchen getting a cup of coffee and it showed up. So I walked up to where he left his truck and waited on him

After about 30 minutes he showed up and I asked him did he find what he was looking for? He just smiled and said “maybe”. I laughed and left him standing there

I don’t bait or do anything illegal but I was extra careful the rest of the season. I don’t think he liked the fact that I knew he was looking around.

Should have thrown a sack of corn in his truck and left. He'd be scratching his head on that one

I are not one, nor have ever been a GW, but I can tell you they don't just go rambling around anywhere cause the notion strikes.
If they are on your property, they have reason to suspect something. Not saying that means you are doing anything wrong, Could be just a jealous neighbor or 2nd cousin dropping a dime on you for spite.
But they don't want to go strolling on your land for no reason.

Aint what i’m saying. If he has authority to be on my land, so be sure it...i guess. I may not like it, but he’s within his authority. However, he has no right or authority to touch anything there that aint his. My 2 cents.
