I've hunted the last 3 afternoons and it is still broad daylight 30 minutes after sunset when legal shooting hours end. I know that for decades there was a conflict between what the law said and the regulation the dcnr used, so I understand why they changed it. But why couldn't they have just changed the law to read "daylight hours only" like it has been for at least 50 years? It's another unenforceable law that will make the few who follow it feel like a sucker because everyone else will ignore it and keep hunting until dark anyway. Why did we need a different law when common sense was working just fine? Rant over. I feel better now.

Because your daylight hours and my daylight hours are different, so they picked a time that is not disputable. Had it ever been a problem? How will it be different now as far as enforcement? GW would almost have to see you shoot to make a case. I wonder if any GW made a case last season for a shot after sunset that previously would have been legal? Anybody heard of one? I

It is still pretty good light 30 minutes after. Ive hunted a LOT of places where they just didnt move until right at too dark to see.

I I never found the old way to be a problem Steve, never personally knew of a case being made for violation. I'm sure some MUST of been made. A GW would have to be pretty close to the offending hunter...like looking at him almost. Or the guy would have to admit it was him that shot and plead guilty when it got to court. Damn whiney folks just bitched too much about "not knowing" that the dept finally cleared it up for them.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....
