Good morning friends I'm more than excited this morning. I saw two REALLY nice bucks on a WMA yesterday and am headed back this morning with .308 in hand. I pray that God blesses each of y'alls day in the deer woods or where ever you may be. If you're hunting, don't be so serious and have fun and stay safe. Got into Tennessee late last night. Went to set up where my friend's grandpa put a shooting house on a plot, get to the house and there's no chair, go back and get a turkey lounger from the car and now that it's light I don't think there's any food plot, just a cut field, so I'm set up in the field in a turkey lounger with the wrong wind and rain expected in the next hour. Doubt I get to hunt very long but will be scouting for the rest of the trip here in a bit.

Seen a pig and coyote and neither presented a shot. Sitting in some short pines watching 300 yards of road.,

I had to work last night, I am taking a au7mm08 right now and fixing to wipe my jbc and go to bed. Good luck guys.

Had 2 doe feeding under me when they turned inside out and left. Coyote showed up and let's just say he didn't leave. Bad part is it cost me an arrow.

Clear cut in Lamar county, nothing so far.

I'm on the edge of some swampy hardwoods this morning. I had a doe and triplets come right under me and stayed within 30 yds for 20 minutes

I�m on an inside corner of hardwoods on Fort Knox. Had a 6 pt non-shooter cruise thru 30 minutes ago. VERY windy here. Rain is coming in. Definitely gonna get wet.... glad I�ve got my Frogg Toggs.

Been quiet in chilton cnty except 3 shots from a neighbor early.

Thought I was going to have to shoot in self defense a few minutes ago. There was an angry squirrel in my tree. Above me.

Only heard 2 shots here on the Bama side of the river, but they been shooting a lot on the Georgia side.

Saw 2 crows and had a wood pecker fly by so far but still early. Very windy in this hardwood bottom but I�m fired up anyway. Nothing like opening day, good luck guys.

915 opening day of gun season and we got 2 dead coyote. Geez it's slow everywhere.

Sitting in a ladder stand down in the swamp...Conecuh Co. Nothing yet. Quiet, warm, no wind....just a red tailed hawk flying around screaming at who knows what.

Heard a couple shots earlier in the distance.

Settled the cross hairs on one bout an hour ago but never touched the safety. In years past he'd be riding in my truck.

Just passed on a small 8 and just heard a far away gun shot looks like the deer are finally on their feet.

Had a friend connect on an 8 point about 15 minutes ago. Said he looked to be a solid buck. Headed to help get it loaded up.

Absolutely but was expected according to forecast. I've been out all morning feeding cows, working on a tractor, and just piddling. Heard 2 shots in the next county early on and that was it. VERY unusual for opening day. The only deer I've seen walked past my living room window eating acorns a short time ago. Yes, I could have killed her from the couch!

A cold front will move into Central Alabama this evening. There will be gusty south and southwest winds ahead of the front and gusty northwest winds behind the front.

* TIMING�through 3 am, but gusts should begin diminishing west to east after 10 pm

* WINDS�sustained winds around 15 mph and wind gust to 35 mph possible

Had this boy come along at 6:02 this morning. He weighed 190 and was a nice deer for our place.

This morning was a bust for us. Took the wife to the club, got settled in a shooting house we thought had two chairs but only had one, then the sun came up and we realized the inside was covered in hornets. We ain�t about that, so we climbed out and pretty much just walked a cut over the rest of the morning. Got to hang out with Reno and have fun, but no deer were seen. I�ll be out with my bow this afternoon I think.

Took the day off from hunting and did some scouting at one our WMA�s that hasnanhunt next weekend. Found what I came to see, so I feel like it�s been a productive day and can�t wait to get out there next weekend.

Working OT today but I'll be after them tomorrow. Actually a little excited about deer hunting this year.

I hunted Hollins WMA, saw a small 6pt and another unknown deer. Wind blew bad the whole morning.

My deer scored 122.75. He weighed 190 but had very little fat. I got no idea on his age; I'm gonna pull the jawbone and let you experts age him.

Congrats to all who got one today. Weather was lousy but you never know what unpressured deer will do.

Shot and missed on one today. I let opening day jitters get the best of me and rushed the shot.

Maybe I should have called him out but it�s the one time I forgot my pistol and he looked like he was on something, he never saw me and walked off and I called a GW and left a message, have pics to send them but they aren�t very helpful.
