Im still a little sick, but pumped!

Getting the pack ready, thermos of coffee...anti freaking biotics, and antihistimines.....throat lonzense's,...but still..pumped!!!

Gonna sit a long open food plot alomg my line..about 1 1/2 arces. catch the deer coming from ag fields to thickets,,..then xing my road. Sitting in the same ground blind near where I shot the big bucks antler in half last year..but then shot him from this same ground blind 3 weeks later.

Hoping another big mature buck will cross that spot, stop and eat a little..and send him to his maker.

If a mature buck was there last opener..Im hoping another will be. They love to bed in that area and cross in the first couple hours.

Still like a little kid i guess even after all these years. I freaking love opening day!

Sick with a sinus infection. But may go anyway.

I've done OK until Dec 1. Then its mid Jan until the end. With this weather I'll definitely wait until Sunday afternoon or Monday if I feel energetic then.

Not pumped at all. Once you miss a few years in a row the excitement kind of fades. Plus really do not have any deer on the land that I would shoot this yr. Me and the kids may go blast a doe or something tomorrow evening if they get excited About it.

Sick as hell but I'm loaded up and ready to go. I'm pumped to get after them but it all depends on how I feel when the alarm clock goes off in the morning. Went to the Dr. today and got tamiflu, a Z pack and a steroid shot. Hopefully they'll kick in soon.

Gosh darn! A lot of us are sick as dogs it seems!

X2. I haven't hunted an opening day in about 5-6 years. I love the bow opener and the youth hunt but opening of rifle doesn't mean as much to me anymore. Kind of sad to realize that...I remember not being able to sleep the whole week before as a kid.

We'll be at the football field tomorrow.

I've got my stuff loaded but really don't feel like going. My oldest is wanting to go and the only place I have is wma. I'm scared to take him out there on opening day.

If I can get up I�ll go for a couple hours. Those spikes ain�t gonna kill their self.

Is that karma for not giving me that day?

I'm fired up. I've been muzzle loader hunting since Wednesday so gun season has been going already for me.

I'm ready but am still in S.C...I'll be home for Thanksgiving but between seeing the grandkids,eating and working on mom's car..I wont have any time..plus the FIL wants to put the boat in the water Saturday.

Check 3 of My rifles Mid Day today to make sure they are good to go. Alarm clock set for 4:30 AM. I am not expecting much since it so dang Warm but I will Be there Enjoying God's Creation.

Man how times have changed. 15 years ago I would have left work early and been at the club by 3:00-4:00 the day before. I'd be visiting with old friends, drinking a few cold beers, and getting ready to grill steaks. Sit around and talk a few more hours then hit the bed and hardly be able to sleep. Like a kid on Christmas Eve. The wife wouldn't see me until about 8:00-9:00 Sunday night. Then I'd do it all over again the next weekend, leaving the house after Thanksgiving dinner. I didn't miss an opening day for about 12-13 years. Now, I can't remember making an opening day for the last 15 years. My camo is piled up somewhere around the house. I'd have to look for it to find it all to tell the truth. Tomorrow I'll be going to a wrestling tournament my oldest is in. Then Sunday, it'll be church and visiting the folks. Maybe Monday afternoon I'll get in the woods. Times change and so do priorities. Good luck everyone. Be safe.

Truck is loaded and ready to roll out in the morning. Eli is in bed and I won�t be far behind him. We will be in a ladder stand that hasn�t been hunted this year at all we checked it about two weeks ago and there�s a bunch of fresh rubs around it.

I use to love opening day but it was when hunting was different. I don't want to hunt at the house because im afraid one of the deer i want the son or wife to kill may come by. I won't go to the lease but once this weekend probably Sunday. It was always more about drinking and hanging out with friends then hunting. I wish we could go back to those days. Hunting sure use to be different more friendships made and good times at camp then we cared about hunting.

I'm headed out in the morning. This is the first opening day I've been able to hunt in a couple years.

I�m kind of excited and I�m a little surprised. Been fishing every chance I got but did a little bowhunting starting Nov 1. Saw a few deer. Ready to get out there with a rifle.
I got no expectations. Gonna hunt a spot I�ve never sat that looks decent on a map.

I'm not sure if I will hunt till the end of December. I have plenty of deer on my land and our club is working alive with them, but right now I just don't have the urge to go. I'm just not as mad at them as I use to be.

Put 18 lbs of butts on the Primo at 2215 and will check them around 0430. Band booster fundraiser for lunch and no idea what I will have to do for cleanup. Me and one of the daughters will go Sunday after church. Good luck to all.
I knew when the first daughter was born on November 16th, 19 years ago that opening day would be a little different. I had no idea how quickly that time would pass.

Same here.

I got up at 4:30 and getting ready to head out. But the gun opener is very anticlimactic for me since they started the ML season and made scopes legal. Out to about 250 yards, my .45 ML is every bit as effective as my .308. I've been hunting since Wednesday; today I just change rifles because the .308 is lighter and less of a hassle. I've seen a lot of deer, but no shooters.
