I had to look it up on a map. It looks like there are 2 such streets in Ttown. If you’re referring to the one just off Hargrove, it’s going to be predominantly college kids living around there.

Not too bad but the apartments around the fire station bring in a bad element.

Tuscaloosa has become section 8 apartment city! They have built so many apartments they can’t fill them all. When they cant fill them they turn to section 8. It’s really sad but T-Town now stands for trash town. If you are looking for some place decent, look either east towards Mercedes or Northport. I wouldn’t live in the city of tuscaloosa if you gave me a house. The proof is in the number of shootings in the city this year. It’s amazing how many there have been. And the asshat mayor wants to be your governor.

You can thank one single person for this- Dr. Witt. A lot of people think it’s the Saban effect, but it pre-dates him. Dr. Witt is the evil genius. He screwed up the city by expanding the undergrad admissions.

This city runs on, and is addicted to, rich out of state kids money. It'll come to pass one day, until then they are gonna build and build. It's amazing how much the latest and greatest apartment complexes can transform in 3 to 4 years. I bet those section 8 residents enjoy the hell out of the integrated golf courses, jacuzzis, tanning booths, and pools at these places.

Once Saban leaves in about 15-20 years, those out of staters will find another school.

Exactly,

Then the UA student population will fall off and T-Town will tank even more. I blame Walter Maddox for this. Under his watch as mayor, he has promoted the construction of apartment complexes on every corner. There became a saturation, he then tried to put the brakes on but it was to late. If this clown becomes Governor, it’ll be hell to pay in this state.

Y’all act like saban is the only reason the UA is expanding. The out of state tuition costs are still cheaper than most in state colleges. Plus, we got the new and improved Greek houses to attract and retain students with high income backgrounds.

Saban helps, but he certainly isn’t the wizard of tuscaloosa like some would believe.

The university, Mercedes, DCH, Hunt Oil, BF Goodrich, etc provide a huge economic base for the town.
