If that is true Tennessee pulled of a miracle, but I just don't see him taking that job.

I don't know why anyone is that excited about him. He won a superbowl with a team that another coach built and then had a bunch of Barely mediocre seasons with no playoff wins.

But it would be interesting to see him coach in the SEC.

As an Alabama fan, I like the hire. They will stay a door mat. Take away his first year in Tampa and he is a .500 coach with no experience in college.

It's also rumored that he told them to go screw themselves. Until it's in writing from someone credible, I ain't believing it.

Agree

But it could go from funny to real if he hired Tee Martin to be OC and head of recruiting

Although that would just end in probation in a few years

He said today that he likes the song "Rocky Top". Make of that what you will. He hasn't coached in about 10 years and not in college in about 25, so it may not be the home run TN fans think. If he takes the job, I would predict he will realize after a few years how much harder he has to work and will quietly go back to the TV side.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Nothing to gain for him to take this job. I just don't see it happening.

You mean less money and go from working 2 days a week to 365 doesn’t sound good?

I seriously doubt Chuckie goes to Tennessee.

If she calls for him to go to EweTee, she's an IDOT. As JBC said, he makes more money and works way less hours then what TN will pay (I'm guessing) and expect.

And mostly, She's probably uses to a lavish lifestyle jetsetting all over the world.. doubt she wants to be pinned up around a bunch of hillbillies wearing orange jumpsuits. laugh

Of course crazier things have happened.

Wife was a TN cheerleader, but do you know any woman willing to give up a couple mil/year to see much less of their husband and father of their children? She must really want him out of the house. wink

Gruden was a Grad assistant with the football team for like a year or 2 and I believe his wife was a cheerleader at UT and that’s how they met. I’m not sure that Gruden is the answer we need at UT, but with a great OC hire i would feel ok about it.

He is worth about 40 mil, I don’t imagine she is wanting for much.

Maybe he just wants to coach, maybe it’s not about the extra millions. If it don’t work out as a coach he can go be an analyst anyday he wants.

If I were in your shoes my biggest concern would be how much time he is willing to be on the road and phone recruiting. His name will do a lot of it for him, but you still have to make contact. That is the biggest difference between NFL and NCAA.
