You may have seen my post on camoing my trail cam. I did it in fear of two getting stolen near property line. Was so easy I did two more that were 1/2 mile from main road.

Low and behold, I caught GW wondering around. Walked right in front of two of my cams, stood there on one of them, never knew he was on cam. Made me feel confident that my cams are 100% more theft proof than they were sitting there in the open. If he'd been a tresspasser and cams were not camo'd, they'd be gone.

Hard to catch a GW on cam.

I used to cut up strips of burlap, spray em and glue em to the cameras. I went to retrieve one of mine once and couldn't find it. I asked my partner if he had gotten it and he said no. I went back and looked again and finally found it...right in front of me all the time. Had some good pics of my blind stupid arse!!!!

You think they're wiping SDs? Seems like they wouldn't bother.

Here 'bout 5-6 years ago there was a great thread somewhere (can't remember exactly...don't think it was on this site) about a GW over in Mississippi that had cleared cards but put one of his own personal cards back in the camera or something like this. The guys that hunted the land started harassing him, making fun of him, etc. Both of them were in the wrong, but I'm pretty sure the GW ended up catching all of them that season for hunting over bait. Anyone remember that?

I don't remember that one. I do remember the one that got a GW in trouble for deleting pics from a camera. That's not their property and they don't have the right to delete them.

hmmmmm, maybe I'm just a different thinker but I wouldnt think so, I would assume these guys are woodsman and could spot a cam not camo'd pretty easy. Buddy of mine wanted me to pull his card yesterday and I haven't been out there EVER to this site. Found his cam in about 2 minutes with the directions of "it's about 30 yards to left of my stand if your sitting in it."

As one GW told me one time when he came up on me at my stand in National Forrest. "For every step you took in these woods, you've stepped on 10 of mine."

Funny you say that; 2 years ago one of our members was leaving our place in Wilcox Cty headed to our locked gate and saw a guy on a 4 wheeler on a side road on us. Stopped to check it out and it was a GW; first time we have ever seen one there. Claimed he was lost; BS. C'mon man? Are not these guys trained not to get lost?

That's the truth. I've told on here before that several years ago I had a GW walk up on me at my truck while I was helping my son gets his coveralls on. He was literally 8' away from me before he announced himself. Until then, I didn't even know he was there. Scared the crap out of me. He's a member here too.

I used 35mm trail cams when I worked for the County S.O., hunting dope, about 22 years ago. Cams had to be WELL camo'd, far enough back that the shutter release and film advance wouldn't be heard, but close enough to be able to identify faces and activities on dope patches...PLUS I had to be very careful about leaving any indication that I'd been there...different routes in and out every time I checked the cameras, etc. Never lost a cam, made some good busts...

Cause this aint about him. This was about camouflaging up my trail cam and it working. I figure its easier to catch a 12 point double beam than a GW. I've seen enough on this forum to know this thread can go sideways direction in a freakin hurry. Rather keep the vids to myself.
