Only went 120 yards, laid down and died. Last night he would’ve ran 4 miles and the tracker would’ve given up. Glad he did the right thing! If more folks would do what they just did…… then recovering deer like this one would be a breeze and we’d all be a lot happier. Wounded deer want to bed up quickly. If left alone they usually won’t go more than a few hundred yards. However, the vast majority of deer we have to track have been pushed from the original bed due to the hunter wanting to go after it right then. Recognize when you’ve made a bad shot and back out. This is an awesome example.

Found it! Jokers a beast...11 storable pray but 15 stickers to hang a ring on...if someone could could post pics, I’ll send some pics to you...dog did an awesome job and only went 120 yds...gut shot, found him after 30 min...woulda jumped him if we went last night though so appreciate yalls input! Well thats great! But the best part is you did wait. We have seen so many others on here not and lose the deer. Lets see some pics and congrats to everyone involved!

He’s got some dried velvet on him as well...a lot of cool points around the bases..5 year old buck that my buddy actually has the shed from when he was 2 years old! Good stuff! Thanks again lefthorn for posting!
