The good lord blessed me with this beautiful buck this morning on our new lease. Not much to the story other than about 30 seconds of adrenaline. We did not know this buck as he’s a bonus buck. We had some good ones using this area. I was hunting the area after one of those bucks. I have been patiently waiting for my opportunity to hunt this particular area. We have some other members that a just starting their hunting hobby and a couple of them wanted to try their chances in the area. I hunted elsewhere until they were done with the spot. This morning was my first hunt in the area since rifle season opened and it paid off. I was watching a 4 ac hidden hayfield surrounded by a huge block of timber. It is a cold dreary day. It just started raining on me so I covered all my optics with lens covers to keep them free of water. I had no sooner finished doing that and got settled in to ride out the rain shower when he busted out of the wood line. In a frantic haste I started jerking covers off my optics for confirmation he was a shooter. I knew he was mature and wide but needed to confirm my first impression “shooter”. I was able to get him to stop perfect in the middle of the field. I settle the crosshairs best I could an let the 7 mag eat. It was a clean miss and I went into panic mode. He bolted for the timber but by the grace of god he stopped one more time. I drew down on him one more time and touched off the 7 mag again. He folded up like a sack of taters on that shot. I’m blessed beyond more than I deserve is all I can say. It’s been a rough latter half of the year for me health wise. The good lord still sees to it I’m able to enjoy my addiction and continues to bless me with some really nice critters!!

"Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes to us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday."

Wow, what a buck. Good job
