central ala,
Trying factory rounds in a Tikka 25-06. Have found only 2 that the bolt will close with. Barnes and Whitetails. Barnes shoot OK and that's what I'm using. Anything other than seating the bullets a little deeper I can do to get others to chamber?

Can you see rifling marks on the bullet of the rounds not chambering?? You shouldn't have to re-seat bullets in factory ammo. You shouldn't have to do anything but shoot it.

Assuming the chamber is cut to spec, you may have something in the chamber, or stuck on the bolt face. I'd start by giving it a good cleaning.

Is the gun new? If not, is this a problem that just developed?

After cleaning, if it's a new gun, I'd send it back to Beretta an let them figure it out.

I've have found that tikkas have very tight chambers, and are very close tolerance. It still should be SAAMI spec though.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

central ala,
This gun I bought new 2-3 years ago. I ran a clean patch through it before I ever shot it. Just something i do to get anything foreign out from factory. It has done this since day 1. Some will not chamber, some really hard to close. Federal Premium and Hornadys(not the Whitetails) are two I remember. The other I think was either Rem. or Win.

I would call them up tomorrow morning and see what they have to say.
OEM ammo with an OEM rifle should be a done deal.

Let me see what a friend of mine has to say that works there in Maryland plant.

You may have one with the chamber and head space cut to minimum tolerances. Make sure what you have before you let anyone do anything to it. If it does have minimum dimensions it can be an excellent shooter with the right ammo or ammo built for it. It's possible that some ammo won't chamber because of the loose tolerances factory ammo is held to. If that's the case, the right ammo and it will be a one hole shooter.

The gun might shoot one hole but those days are past for the shooter. Poor eye sight, don't shoot enough anymore, and just generally too old to be a very good shot. 1 to 1.5 is my expectations now.

have your local Gunsmith to check the chamber for any rust especially in shoulder area and polish if found otherwise send it back to the factory to be headspaced correctly

This but I'd be really careful with any load. You could see a pressure spike with the bullet jammed in the lands.

Yep,you could also have a dangerous situation. I'm just saying to get it checked out by a qualified gunsmith before just sending it back to Beretta, cause they won't care. I would let John Gallager look at it.

Good added warning Josh.I didn't emphasize that enough.

All good info.
After cleaning it, take some ammo that won’t chamber and color the BULLET with a sharpie. The sharpie will show rifelingmarks if the bullet is jamed into the lands.

I don't know where you are located which is why I didn't mention it earlier, but I have headspace gauges. If you want, I'd be happy to check the headspace or you.

Thanks! I have done that before with reloads but have forgotten about it.

I appreciate it but you are quite a distance away. I know a few around. I'll get one of them to do it.

I have a tikka 308 that wouldn’t take my reloaded noslers. Had to get new brass and load Barnes. I believe some old horandy bullets I had laying around did go in okay

Don't blame me for your bad decision-
