On a green patch I hadn’t hunted. Not all is rosy though. Red oak I’ve had a ladder stand in for 18 years has died. I’m sitting it anyway today but it has to be moved. Not any great trees nearby to put it in. Makes me sick. This is my “quick hunt” spot after work and ballgame days. I got 3 stands up. Oaks 2 of them are in have died.
“Killing tomorrow’s trophies today.”
On the distance I like to walk to my stands:
“The first 100 yards is also the last 100 yards.”
