Buy and shoot a variety of ammo to find what your gun likes. My .30-06 shoots Federal Premium ammo really well.

I've always liked the Nosler Custom loaded with Accubonds in several guns but every gun is different. Yep. Been playing around with precision hunter (ELDX) and HSM (berger) too. None of them are cheap.

.308: Hornady 150gr Superformance SST .30-06: 165gr Rem Cor-Lokt No offense to you but I've trashed more of this ammo than anything else. Tested in multiple calibers I only seen 1 gun that will shoot it accurately. I would never recommend it.

You might want to be a little more specific with Your statement. My savage 110 30-06 will drive nails with hornady performance sst 180gr. And my savage hog hunter 308 loves 165gr. I've shot hornady superformance and whitetail classic shoots them both tight but its doesnt like the lighter bullets

I have never had any issues in multiple calibers and guns shooting at or less than MOA. Never had a deer or hog run out of sight after shot. I shoot Cor-Lokts out of a Rem 742 so 2 moa is about it. But they will slap knock em down. If i were to rethink it that is the one i wouldnt recommend in a more accurate rifle.

Find what your gun likes and what you are willing to accept for accuracy, I've seen some guns shoot corelokts better than hornady custom, and vice Versa. Choose a good bullet to start with and go from there, most factory guns should stay around moa with today's factory ammo.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

I know some of you say you've had issues with Rem core-lokts but I've shot all kinds of ammo out of my rifles and I've come back to them in every one. They are the best performing ammo on the market for penetration and expansion/retention when hitting bone. I can also put my thumb on my grouping most days. They're also moderately priced. There is no way in heck I'll pay $40+ dollars for a box of ammo. That's insanity. Never had one misfire and I kill a pile of deer with them every year. I shoot them in 150 grain in my 30-06 and 100 grain in .243. I've settled in on the 180 grain Federal Fusions in my .308.
I'll never shoot another Winchester rifle round as long as I live. They're crap. Had several misfire, perform like crap, and even had a bullet fall out of one and the powder poor out in the floor.

I've not had luck with it in MULTIPLE cartridge sizes, neither has two of my buddies with there rifles. We have probably tried it in 10-12 different rifles and none shot better than 3".
