What y’all like to use? I was thinking of just getting like a 2x7 scope.

Depends on the intended use.
For defense, a reflex type red dot with iron sights for back ups.
For hunting, a regular old scope of your choice.

I have a 2.5x10x40 on 1 and a red dot on the other.

I've got a Leupold VX-R 1.25x4x20 with the circle FireDot, in a Burris P.E.P.R. mount, that'd I'd part with, if you're interested. I traded for it, and have never mounted it. I've shot several rounds through this scope/mount combo. Solid optic, good mount, good price. And it damn sure ain't been used much

what is your intended use and how much do you want to spend?

Plinking/hunting. Budget: cheap as I can get away with. Gonna probably get a Leupold.

Mounted this one for a guy last week. ZIESS Conquest 4x16x50! Is that a fake Conquest?? Most Zeiss Conquest Adjustable Objectives are not on the Bell It is! He didn't know it and was a little aggravated about it when I pointed it out. He didn't pay much over what he could buy the same scope for on ebay so decided not to cause problems with the seller. It wasn't bought for the AR but after finding out it was a knock off decided to try it on the AR first. Very clear glass and held zero through some pretty good bumps and tumbles today while shooting.

I purchased a Steiner P4Xi back in October for $459 total and that included a throw lever. This is a low powered variable scope with a red center dot that has off setting between each level. The glass is amazing plus at 1X power you can use it as a red dot with both eyes open. I always shoot with both eyes open anyway even on higher powered optics. I would also check out Primary Arms optics as well as Vortex if your not really wanting to invest a lot.
