Brutal. Cold, wet, windy and the fish didn't cooperate. Caught one decent keeper on a spinnerbait and that was it. Tons of bait in the creeks, but nothing was getting after them. Water temps were in the 69-70 range. I scouted a lot of new water. Plenty of standing timber in the creeks down there! Wow.
I found some areas that I'll go back to, but it was tough. Saw a bunch of guys fishing main river points with the weenie worm. I'm sure they caught some, but that's just not what I do well. Saw a TON of deer. One nice bachelor group of bucks that had (4) in it. Smallest being a nice 6 pt. Found a dead doe down by the dam. Looks like someone shot it high and back with a bow.

That's one of the few places I throw the weenie worms out on the river. Those spots are the reason I go down there
We will burn that bridge when we get there

If you fished till dark I saw you were the only truck in the parking lot. Did a little deer scouting that evening. It was definitely brisk by that water. That doe was prolly shot on corps land by the dam. They always seem to run straight to the river.
There some good bass flats about midways between swift creek and the dam. They’ve always been good to me late mornings early summer but not too much this time of year.
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

Yeah. Just checked the corp land. I was fishing in the middle of it and didn't know.
I didn't fish until dark. I was cold and wet and hadn't caught much of anything, so I went home at around 2:00. I was the only one there when I launched though. Didn't see many people out.
That corp land down there get hunted a lot? Saw a ton of deer down there. I normally hunt Demopolis which is about the same distance.
