Was planning on hunting one of my favorite stands today but when I got to the property it was raining so I got in the shooting house. The birds are definitely moving and making noise today hopefully the deer will be too.

Dang just misfired on a doe they ran off and now the squirrels are going nuts.

I’m back on Fort Knox in the same tree as yesterday. 60° and mosquitoes here on this ridge.

I got some new land to hunt this year. I've seen more deer this morning than my last 2 seasons.

Well 11 minutes after I miss fired on the doe, I got some freezer meat.

Been set up for about an hour now, steady south breeze here on this hill in Madison county. Some days I wish I hunted flat land.
I did find small small buck runs walking in and a good trail to some white oaks. Hung a camera, will see

Set up on the north ridge under some white oaks. Emmett is covering the south ridge. He’s in the hot seat. He’s seen deer every time he’s hunted it.

In a field with decent looking grass and red oaks dropping. Scared 2 small bucks and a doe out when I got here. It is mighty warm this afternoon, I am pouring sweat from climbing.

No good this morning. Change of food this afternoon. I’m Hunting Black Warrior WMA this afternoon. Im hunting a big grain sorghum field that has been getting hit hard. Maybe a good buck will feel secure enough to show up before dark. Bankhead has been rough on me this year. To much food! Good Luck y’all.

I think the deer laid up in the shade and tried to stay cool this afternoon.

Yeah I have a new hand held thumb release that has the sensitivity a little too sensitive, I must have bumped it while drawing back and sent the arrow flying way high over her back mid draw.

Today was tough - 70° and 15+ mph winds all day. I didn’t see the first deer from the stand. I did see a bunch on the drive in and drive out, like that really matters. I’m going to a new area tomorrow morning. Maybe isome change will help the mojo. Regardless, this is terrible weather to be hunting in. I need it to be 30° colder at a minimum. Ugh.

My last call was right next to Cahaba WMA so I threw my gear into my work truck. Got out there around 3:00 and someone was target shooting very close to where I had intended to go. Went looking for another spot found something I thought might work. I was sweating walking in. Gnats and ladybugs everywhere. Got to the area I was thinking of sitting, no deer sign, lost my umph, sweating, packed up and went home.
