I wondering if anyone can tell me what to bait trap this time of year? I have caught hogs in past with corn after deer season. This year we have lots of acorns an i can t get hogs in traps. I have a corral type trap that i leave door open an try to prebait but can t get hogs to even eat the corn around trap.picked up some sweatfeed an gonna try that but im doubtful. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I think corn and peanuts are the best baits. Acorn time is just a hard time. Lots of food everywhere. When the acorns play out, be ready!

Actually the best bait is dried fish, but dang if I know how to get it without a ton of trouble.
A biologist at one of the conferences had performed a study and said that dehydrated fish was the most preferred bait by far.

I live on pickwick lake but if i catch any fish, it s going in my freezer! Especially if it s crappie.there is always dead carp around the river. Next time fishing might bring some home an throw it in trap. Never know im open for anything.not lot of hogs on our lease now. It s getting harder to catch them. They getting smarter an move around alot. Sometimes three or four days before i get any pictures.caught over 100 last couple yrs, but getting slim pickings now. Just looking for some irrestible food now to keep numbers down.big boars are really hard to catch here. Guess have to wait till acorns are gone an they starving.

spoiled corn with strawberry koolaid mix is what I have heard people use before. If you use straight corn the deer eat it before the hogs do. went on a hunt in georgia who used peanuts and peanut paste, but he said fish was the best due to the oil and smell.
