I got invited to go to Illinois for a few days in November. I think it’s Pike County. Anybody have any advice?

I know they had a bad case of it, but it was 5 years ago or so. Pulling out at 4:00 am in the morning headed to Pike Co, IL. Will have to be a real nice one in order to shoot, but there are plenty of big ones that live there. We'll see.
How the hunt go? Struck out. Headed back now. EHD has just hit the area hard and we only saw one mature buck on the farm we hunted. Big change from last year. We found several good ones that had been dead about a month.

FYI, I follow the Lindsey’s on social media and they confirm that EHD has hit Pike County hard. They are still finding dead bucks

Great dates to be there. Dont worry about the ones that died from EHD, you sure cant kill one of them.
But thats prime rut and whatever ones that ARE alive should be on their feet!
Good luck and stick a good one!

Best advice......sit daylight to dark. Take a sandwich and some snacks and stay in the tree all day.

Practice shooting your bow at 50-60 yards, assuming that you are bow hunting.

Practice shooting your bow at 50-60 yards, assuming that you are bow hunting. I’ve been practicing at 50 all summer since I learned I was going. (Lord Willing)

I will be across the river from you in Kentucky Nov. 7-12. Try to run a few big ones my way if you can.

Best advice......sit daylight to dark. Take a sandwich and some snacks and stay in the tree all day. X2, and dont hesitate to grunt and rattle. I've had alot of luck using some dominant buck scent as well.
We are not perfect, only forgiven!!!
