I'm saying 4. Been hunting this area for many years and the 3 year olds usually have much smaller racks. Also seeing his gut developing makes me think 4.

4-5, he's old enough to die, and looks like a fine 8.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

could be four, but, BUT his ass is bigger than his chest, sign of a three year old. Please disregard the antler size when aging, it WILL make you shoot younger above average deer.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I agree with Fred, looks 3 to me. His legs still have some of that "too long for his body" look and his antlers lack the mass of most 4 year olds. Always tough to tell from just one pic. Nice buck.

No sway in back, looks long legged. Not 4 yrs old.

i think back sway would be more prevalent if he was legs weren't scrunched up like they are.

He's not on level ground. Ground slants from left to right.

If you’re aging a deer based on visual and not able look at teeth, etc, you need to look at neck. I pay zero attention to rack size. He’s got a thick/short neck, belly, and rump like a 4 year old.

I would bet $20 he’s not less than 4.5. Short-legged, decent belly, but flat back and rectangular look. 4.5 but possibly 5.5. Good pose for aging by the way.
