Let's say your wife gets a job in a less than friendly gun state. You can't even bring a few of the guns you own into that state. You don't want to sell them and you don't have any friends/family that you trust to hold them for you for a few years. Is there any type of long term storage available? Or what would be some good, reasonable suggestions for long term storage? Unfortunately not asking for a friend.

I've never heard of a state that don't allow ANY guns. Some liberal cities, yes, but not an entire state.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I've never heard of a state that don't allow ANY guns California doesn't allow AR's without all kind of stupid azz rules and modifications. Hell, just reading their guns laws had me confused and have me a headache.

Bolt gun safe into a self-storage locker, put noise alarm on safe, get specific insurance to cover the value of the guns, hope for the best.
Or
straight up bury them, coat the metal is heavy goopy grease, put them in moisture proof bags and down they go.
That's what comes to mind off the top of my head.
Not sure what state it is but a lot of the anti-gun states have high costs of living so factor that into the numbers before moving. Thought about the storage unit but my luck a hurricane would blow the damn door off and somebody would take the whole safe. Cost of living IS factored in. Yeah, there is always the "what they don`t know, they don`t need to know" thing but my luck sucks lately and what`s the use of having it if you can`t go shoot it.

I would leave the AR15's you have here and buy a CA compliant one when you arrive.
