No deer movement today. Rain is supposed to stop at 0500 tomorrow, and it’ll be 36°. Deer should move. Good luck to y’all who are hunting tomorrow.

Saw a doe on the church campout with my daughter. Counting it as the first deer sighting this year cause it was in the woods, and i was in camo.

I ended up seeing four deer total Saturday. At 0840 I had a buck spot me (had no idea he was there until he blew), then he took off. Big-bodied buck, looked like a 135” or so 8 pt. No shot. Then saw a doe at 1000 and she was in a hurry, but no male courters were following. I moved stands at lunch, and had two non-shooter bucks move thru at 1pm. And of course one of the non-shooters loitered right in front of me for about 10 minutes. No deer after that.
Then last night I didn’t get an area assignment before they all filled up, so I was done hunting. I drove home late last night - got home around 12:30am or so.
I hope to head back up to Fort Campbell around Vet. Day weekend.

Alright fella's, I'm headed to Fort Knox tomorrow and will be bow hunting Wednesday thru Monday of next week. I know the bucks have been cruising, chasing does, and responding to calling. That said, the weather is going the wrong direction but there's nothing I can do about that. Rain is in the forecast too... Here's to hoping the good Lord has mercy on me and sends an old senile buck my way that is blind and has a head cold! I'll do my best to post updates when I can. Cell service is spotty up there, and the campground also has bad service. Good luck to all of y'all who hunt this week!

Woke up to rain here in KY this morning. I’m at my spot, and am waiting on a big rain cell to pass thru before I head to the ridge I’ve got mapped out. Looks like by mid-morning the rain will be through here for most of today. Tomorrow the rain chances are low, but Friday is a wash out (according to forecast). I’ll be posting in the LFTT thread if I have coverage up on the ridge.

Good luck claims. Im going saturday morning. Having a hard time figuring out where to go. Might go either wheeler of skyline. Any suggestions. Wish I could help, but it’s been a long time since I’ve hunted either place. Both hold deer though.

Well guys I came home from Fort Knox with an empty truck bed. My best opportunity was Wednesday morning (my first sit on Knox). Here’s a text I sent to a buddy telling him happened Wednesday morning : “Almost closed the deal yesterday morning at 1050 right after the rain stopped. I had a stud chocolate rack 10 Point at 22 yards and had no shot. He started to walk away and I stopped him with a grunt. He wouldn’t come in, so I snort-wheezed at him. He finally did turn, but went right back in the thick stuff where he came from. I needed 2-3 more steps and he’d have gotten a ride to Alabama.” So Wed. morning was my best chance. Th. I didn’t see any deer at all. Fr. I saw a small 8 pt. that was a non-shooter. Saturday I walked in almost 600 yards to a new spot. On the walk out I jumped a bunch of deer, had no shot, etc. Learned from that that I walked in way too far. Lesson learned for next time. Sunday morning I had a big buck come right under my stand, but he was totally missing his left beam (his pic is below). If he’d matched he would’ve been a shooter for sure. The weather up there was terrible for deer hunting. Low temps were in the upper 50’s, and highs were upper 70’s. Just terrible deer hunting weather. Given the temps, I guess I should just be glad I saw deer at all.
