I've joined a new club in Lamar county this year, which shows some promise. Also have small places in Jefferson county and tallapoosa.

Hey guys. First time I’ve done the team deal in a few years. I will be in lamar mainly this year. Will be in a stand Saturday. Got some great bucks on cam and a lot of activity around a few hardwood spots I think will be good for some early season freezer packin

I'm here folks. Just got back from Indiana. Got a 150lb doe up there. Need to figure out how to post pics again so I can get us some points.

Hunting Tuscaloosa and Fayette Counties.

Well I shot a doe opening afternoon but she was big and I hit her a little high. She jumped the shot and wheeled at the same time. I think I got a good shot because the arrow was bloody but it had darker blood. She left no trail. Looked for two hours. Not the best way to start it off. Saw a bunch of deer

I could have shot a doe or two, but it was too hot to mess with, and I'm trying to lay off for a week or two and catch a buck slipping up. Wish I was in the stand the next couple of days. Sure was hot this weekend.

Good job man! I am gonna try to get out to the club again Friday to hang a few more stands before an evening hunt. Gotta turn my bad mojo back to good after losing that doe

Congrats slippin! I'm gonna try to slip out of work in time to hunt Friday afternoon. unfortunately I'm pretty much a weekend warrior nowadays. Hope to take off a few days and hit Kentucky during the rut, then take off a week at Christmas for my Lamar place.

Congratulations guys on the kill I am going to get us some points this weekend. I haven't had any cameras or anything out on any of my places in Al or Ky.

Good luck bud. I know how that feels. I almost lost that 9pt and I firmly believe if I didn't jump him up and make that arrow move around in him, I would have lost him.

Slippinlipjr, I spent 3 years in the early 90's assigned to Dallas County. I was a rookie State Trooper and that was my first assignment. I hated the idea of working there but I met some of the best people who have since become like family. I've been hunting in Molette's bend since the early 90's. Keep in touch and we can meet up at Hancock's for some BBQ some time.

Speed Goat Chasers? Been sitting here 30m and that's all I can come up with.

Congrats Hoyt! I saw a ton of deer this weekend. Passed 2 different 115-120 8pts. Hopefully a mature buck shows up soon.

I'm gonna head to Kentucky Friday afternoon and hunt my public land spot through Tuesday or Wednesday. Maybe a big one will come by. I won't be as selective up there, hopefully a dumb one stumbles in my path.

Need to decide on a name

Well we did a camera pull yesterday. I have a 200lb lamar giant crossing blind less than 20yards away. Ugh. Came across last Sunday at 9:30am

Good luck! You will be hitting it perfect. I struck out, had probably the worst weather I could imagine and was a bit early on the rut. They killed a 200" deer there last year and the crowds were easily twice as thick as normal.

Haven't been seeing much lately around the house. I think all the neighbors have corn out. If someone could pm me their number and post my buck for me I would appreciate it. I'm gonna go ahead and pick a name out of a hat. Not sure if y'all really want me to do this. Lol

We in a ground blind on a powerline plot out of the wind this mornin in lamar. Gonna see if I can’t get us some points.

Watching the frost melt in the yard wishing I was in the woods. I won't be able to start giving em hell again till December.

Slow this past weekend. Saw a few small bucks and does. Gonna be a lot of deer watching from here on out.

Shot a doe today in Millport lease. Forgot to get a pic. There will be many more since we gotta thin the doe herd

Hate to hear that cuz. I saw 2 different shooters this weekend. Both were dark enough where I couldn't justify shooting them in the moonlight

Congrats cuz! I got us an 8pt yesterday as well. I passed him the day before, screwed up and shot him chasing a doe the next day on a split second decision. I'll get him posted soon.

Well I probably could go kill a turkey but it would be highly illegal since it would be at a feeder. I think we have about 20 hens coming to the feeder every morning. None of us turkey hunt though. This time of year I am either in the garden, on the water, or in the mountains gold prospecting.

Enjoyed "hunting" with yall this year! Already looking forward to next season.
