Went hunting opening morning, had a doe right under me at daylight, and watched another doe and small buck ease down edge of the pasture right past me.. on this particular spot, it's gotta be a nice one before I shoot. Put 3 cameras out there today instead of hunting. Hopefully I can locate a nice one soon!

took my 8 yr old son to TN last Friday and he shot a big (guessing 130") 8 pt with the muzzleloader, and we cant find it. I had a dog come out that night too. No blood, nothing. I saw the deer run off holding his leg that was facing us, so I think he was hit decent.
Gonna go back and look tomorrow.

I am pretty well busted unless I get lucky. our TN club has had a lot of pressure on it and the deer I had planned on hunting had moved and I had not time to find them.

Well I thought I had us one satuday but he wouldn’t hang around til daylight to make a good sure decision on his age, I normally would’ve ground checked him but I believe he could use another year and be something real nice.... he is one of the bucks I’ve had on camera but still not the one I’m hunting.. so I gave him a pass... i sure hope the big one gets stuck with one of my does that come through everyday, like this one did... Here is the one from saturday morning

Weyerhaueser sold 580 acres of our club out from under us. We have to be off of it by December 26. That leaves us only 34 areas for 40 members to sign out and hunt. It's gonna get interesting during the rut.
