Trying to load a few Hornady 150 Interlock RN's for 308. COL for 308 round is 2.810. My die is set for that and upon pressing 1 round through I had a round measuring 2.60 overall length. I checked the hornady book and the COL listed is 2.520. Did I mess up or is the round still too long and needs to be adjusted to 2.520 COL?
COL = Cartridge Overall Length ?
I came, I saw, so I killed them all......Vern

Usually on the interlocks you crimp the interlock crimp cannelure, and you can fine adjust from there.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Sounds like it should be seated lower. The only way to be sure is to measure your distance to the lands for that bullet.

No need to crimp the bullet. The 150 RN is probably a short bullet and loading them to 2.810 probably does not seat the bullet deep enough in the case neck. Seating the bullet so that the cannelure ring is just at the case mouth should work. In my experience with round nose bullets, they are not sensitive to seating depth in regards to accuracy.
