I got the 45/70 something to eat for this hunting season also got a cocktail ready for the 30/06 to see how much powder it prefers. One day I'll get enough brass to load for my 308 as well

My reloading room is coming along in our new house. There's another shelf to the right that holds the hornady sonic cleaner and also where I leave my brass to dry and store cleaned and sized brass in holders over there where it's not on the main bench in the way. They just sit there and wait their turn

Just curious to what powder you're giving a try in the '06. I'll be trying out a new load/powder for the old 270 tomorrow. Sst'and ramshot hunter

I'm using IMR 4350 for the 30/06 load with a 180gr. Hornady sst. And federal large rifle primers.

IMR4350 and RL-19 are supposed to be made for the '06.

Not trying to tell you your buisness but If those are completed 45-70 rounds it doesn't look like you have enough crimp. If you are using a lever gun with a tubular magazine then the recoil can jam a poorly crimped bullet deeper in the case and raise pressure. A Lee factory crimp die is $14 well spent. I have one for every caliber I load.

That picture is of uncrimped cases. I'm well aware of the tubular magazine issues though thanks for pointing that out incase some one sees it and didn't know. I had lee make me a factory crimp die for the short brass I use for the hornady ftx bullets with the 45/70. I Think they call it the 45/70 LE. For leverevolution. I crimp every Thing I load for.
