I'm gonna need one of them to pull my 58 foot Hydra Sports.
I'm going to tell my company they need to increase our truck budget.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
I was just curios. So I looked back at some trucks we have bought.
Here is the problem I see...
In 2003 a well equipped Lariat was about $35k
8 years later...
in 2011 a well equiped 6.7 Lariat was about $45k. About a 30% increase. That was shortly after we the taxpayers bailed their arse out.
6 years later....
In 2017 a well equipped Lariat is about $67k. About a 48% increase.
Since 2003 we will call it a roughly 100% increase in the price. Now people say that wages are stagnant and the economy is in the toilet, etc. So how can they justify that kind of increase.
The answer is simple. They increased the available financing terms.
In '03 we financed for 48 Ford Credit at a low rate.
In 2011 we financed for 60, still got Ford Credit and a low rate.
In 2017 I was offered 84 months. I still did 60 on that truck but I could have gone higher.
BTW - the '03 with the 7.3 have been the best ones we've ever owned. SO the argument that they are "better" ain't gonna fly. They might have more power but the 7.3 would pull a bobcat fast as anyone needed to pull one. Ever.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
Looking thru the family bible the other day I found a simple 1/2 page bank note where I bought my very first new truck in May of 1977. It was a 1977 Chevy C20 with 350, automatic, manual windows, all vinyl interior and 2WD. $4995.00
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

You can get a well equipped Lariat for less than $67k. Truck prices are bad but they're not that bad yet. Not sure where you got those numbers.
I don't think you can buy a new diesel for much less than 60k these days.. Add in leather, stereo and everything else and you'll be in the 65-70k range

You think they'll go 10 years on a loan? Asking for a financial advisor friend.
Nah. Go 12 years

FWIW, I picked up an 05 F250 King Ranch, not new but as close as you could possibly hope for in an 05, 2 years ago for 14K, dropped 1100 on indash nav/stereo/sat radio/bluetooth/etc., and another 40 bucks on a 12K lumen LED headlight upgrade, and I'm happy with it. My plan is to remain happy with it for SEVERAL years to come.

For 2wd
I think they all come with "stereo" now
excuse me we're talking well equipped so I need to be more specific... diesel, 4x4, navigation, leather, AC seats, heated steering wheel, back up camera and the little pole that pops up so fat asses can pull themselves up on the tailgate
yea, im pretty sure "stereo" has been standard since the F'n 80s

I'm going to tell my company they need to increase our truck budget.
Same here. Of course I've been screaming that for years. 12 years ago I got a truck allowance of $600.00 per month plus mileage. The stipulation was that my truck couldn't be over 5 model years old, so basically I stay in a truck payment. Now, 12 years later, I get $575.00 a month plus mileage, same 5 year stipulation. Now you tell me, have trucks gone up or down in the past 12 years.
