How much clover per acre planted alone, and with Cereal Rye? It depends on the variety....it varies. Species like yuchi and crimson show 10-15 lbs as full rates planted with 50 lbs of cereal rye as a nurse crop....White clovers are less. Durana is 5 lbs for a full rate

Some of those rates sure do vary from what I've seen in other links. Am I correct that it's calling for 20-30 lbs of crimson per acre? Check out what this link shows for seeding rate.....Interesting how much of a difference between the two rates.... https://plants.usda.gov/factsheet/pdf/fs_trin3.pdf

Ive heard to mix with sand and it spreads more evenly.

The trick with seed that small is getting it spread that sparse. You could try and mix with fertilizer. Buy a Solo hand seeder for your small seed you you can fine tune it to spread as sparse as you would like. It does good with most seed but really shines with your smaller seeds like clover, chicory, rape and turnips. I've had mine for 7 or 8 years. It's a great little seeder and very durable. If you have a big field I get a buddy to drive me around in the back of UTV or I've even sat on the back of 4 wheeler rack. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BWZD0O/ref...la-313102784580

Just mix it with the Ryegrass
Not Ryegrass, but Rye (grain). You dont want grass in a clover field. But mixing clover with Rye and fertilizer is a good way to ensure an even spread.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Always take the extra time to spread it separately after your dragging, if clover gets too deep it will never make a good stand. Most important is to maintain it after the season by cutting the cereal gain down in February...

I know how everybody gets worked up about ryegrass. I have two 1/4ac bow plots I put 25lb coated crimson on last weekend. This is the first year I've planted them. I'll probably take out a few more trees next year for more sunlight. I'm planning to run up there to see what they look like at 1 wk.

Cerel rye typically needs 60 units of N per acre where wheat and oats need 100 units of N per acre as per just about every soil test I have ever done. I have used cereal rye and crimson for the cost savings on Fert. for years. I like large ladino, yuchi arrowleaf and berseem also.

As mentioned, the Solo hand crank spreader is the best for small seeds. I have a brand new on. in the box that I'll use later this week. And I never cover clover seed as the rule of thumb for most all seed is 4x the diameter of the seed. 4x a pinhead ain't much.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
