The only thing more boring than watching the NFL on tv is watching it live. Carried my dad who is 77 to see the Falcons and Redskins in Atlanta last year. He had never been and wanted to see a live game while he is still able. My first live game as well. First game I had seen in years and it reminded me why I quit watching. That crap sucked big time.

If I protest at work I will be terminated...no and's if's or buts.

Why should it be any different for them? I don't agree with what they're protesting, but they have the right to do it. Just not while they are on the clock.

I've never been a big fan of the NFL so I seldom watch it. Their recent crap has nothing to do with that though. Certainly, they are the best football players in the world, but to me, and I accept others may feel differently, the game is much more entertaining when you are playing purely for passion and not just the millions you will receive.

This is why I hate any pay for play scandal at any college. Everyone of them diminishes my love of the game a little more.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I'd rather watch Premier League soccer than the NFL. Any NCAA ball is better than the NFL.

I'd have to start to quit.

"Any NCAA ball is better than the NFL."

I agree 100%. NCAA anytime. Kids play for the love of the game. Pro's are in it for the dough and never put out 100% for the team.

Have you who have boycotted or will boycott the NFL due to some players' social stances (something guaranteed by the Constitution) researched other companies and done the same? Have y'all thrown your iPhones and iPads and iPods out in the garbage? Apple is one of the biggest social justice companies in the world. Will you no longer watch Game of Thrones, because HBO is going to introduce the show Confederate? Or, do you just pick and choose what your level of commitment is?

In general, I won't support a company such as Apple, Starbuck etc. if they want to get political. I don't go around asking everyone I do business with what they believe in or support. Your beliefs are yours but when you are going to put it out there for everyone and make statements and or bring attention to your cause, then people have the option to support or not. I travel a lot for my job, the weekends are my time at home. I am going to watch college ball the best that I can but do not have time to watch football all day Saturday and Sunday. The NFL has decided to enter the political arena, so I made a choice to quit caring, watching, etc. If you want to watch it, I don't care, it is your right to believe and support what you want.

X2

You would not have seen a single player take a knee or anything like that back then. In fact if someone did they probably would have been decapitated by an elbow from one of their own teammates and afterwards the offender would never stepped in the locker room again without a beating.

In all honesty - I hope they go broke.

I think paying some ghetto rat the same amount as a fortune 500 CEO is deplorable, sets a bad example and is part of the reason behind the recent disdain for low paying jobs.

I know they don't work for long but they can go work a job at a desk like the rest of the damn world after the super star life is over. If they graduated college like they should have - they will still be relatively high paid.

I see it as a child's game, played for entertainment only. They produce nothing. If every one of them was to disappear tomorrow, the world would not suffer. If every engineer or person who moves dirt or lays pipe or hangs drywall disappears tomorrow, we're foocked for a while.

The very nature of what they do is disgusting to me because of the amount of money they're paid. And if every owner fired the ones who did dumb chit - we'd still have a child's game, played for entertainment, on this coming Sunday and every one after during the season.

Rant over.

Done with the NFL. When I see Auburn or Alabama players kneeling during the National Anthem I'm done with college football too. Got work to do at camp this time of year.

I would bet money that Saban would protect his brand and "process" any kneelers. They can pray to whomever they want at Bama, but there's only one almighty there.
