That's terrible. Prayers sent. If I understand correctly your niece is missing after Maria went through PR? The US Virgin Islands/ Saint Croix are/is East of Puerto Rico. Hurricane Maria is busting through Saint Croix now/soon and PR sometime tomorrow. We really think this one is going to be bad.

My SIL called last night from PR. She couldn't get her daughter on the phone, so she called my wife (her sister) and told her where her will was and financial information. That is as surreal as it gets. Prayers

Seems she has caused an earthquake in mexico city too. Wasn't there an earthquake off the coast of mexico about the time Irma hit the leeward islands or Bahamas?

Yes, Mexico had an earthquake a few weeks ago. Now a second one. Both were big on the Richter scale. Also a Cat 1 hurricane that hit, I think, the Yucatan. Peninsula.

We visited St. Croix in autumn 1995 and were run off by a hurricane that didn't hit the island but was heading that way. My late father-in-law and I put our wives on the last plane to leave the island, got to our rental car and went back to the terminal to check once more. They had two seats - which they didn't have 30 minutes earlier. We got our bags, I left a bag of peanut butter, bread, snacks and gallon of rum with the desk guy, left the rental car at the curb and got on the plane.
It looks like PR will be demolished. God help them.

Still no word from my SIL and her BF. All cell towers in her area are down. No word from my oldest son yet either. Last text I got from him was Tuesday afternoon. With no electricity to the cell towers, it may be a while before we hear from him. He's in the Auguadilla area on the NW side of the island.
