Only fished here one time. We have a two day there 9/30-10/1. Figured I'd run up to the shoals and just start fishing. Second thought is to run down to the bluffs and start fishing there.

Thanks,

PS: I've heard there is a little bit of shoreline grass on this lake. Any ideas on where some of it might be?

I always see bass boats casting to the ridges at around the powerlines, near the dam.

Thanks,

Won't be any grass on martin by then. Water should be down a few feet I imagine.

nah, they're leaving it full pool until late October this year. Because of all the rain.

Here's what Alabama Power has on their web site:

Quote:
Lake Conditions Message
As of September 1st, the Martin Fall Extension has been implemented and will continue through October 15th. The elevation at Martin will be maintained within the fall extension zone as hydrologic and operational conditions allow. Lake elevations are always subject to change, depending on conditions.

Many a tournament have been won & lost on Lake Martin between the bridges on Elkahatchee Creek. Largemouth and spots in size and numbers.

Lake Martin is one of my favorite lakes. It's just like Tuscaloosa. Once you learn several things you can always catch fish there. If the lake is being drawn down, now is a great time to target bigger than usual bass there.

Sorry I haven't called the guys that have PM'd me yet. Been crazy at work lately.

I prefished this Saturday. There was some high school tournament out of Wind Creek, but it wasn't that big. Bunch of kids all over the lake throwing weenie worms isn't gonna bother me much. grin

Anyway, this lake is pretty cool with the water up. I mean, it's not Lay or Neely cool, but there is some dingy shallow stuff with some cover. I found two such areas this weekend that are holding fish. Had a bunch of bites and feel like it should only get better as it cools down this week.

Glad my Navionic's chip has this lake on the map. My Lakemaster did not. Above the RR bridge looked to be a little hairy if you didn't know where you were going.

They ran a lot of current Saturday. I was surprised by the amount of floaters on the lake. Almost felt like I was at the Warrior....
