Claims rep's post got me thinking; how many people here attended or graduated Troy State University? Or TU for the youngins.

Winter 97 graduate here.

I attended the Brass Monkey a few times with a buddy that played baseball down there. Does that count?

I went back to school as and adult and got my bachelor's there about 5 years ago.

I will be at the GA Southern game maybe, and for sure at the Texas State game with ole friends. I hope they somehow beat LSU....I said I hope. Man at the good memories I had at TROY. Here's a quick crazy one: One night I ended up at the Double Branch (Beer Joint/Dance hall) not your college hangout place off 231 where all the locals went. I met this local man and ended up leaving the bar about 3am, grabbed some breakfast together at the Waffle House, and he said he had a crap load of land and alot turkeys. We went to his farm house, he gave me a one of his shot-guns,and at sun up we were in position. I shot my first turkey that morning. I later found out he owned Troy Cable Vision back in the day....way on back. RIP Bogey Freeman !

Cummins, I killed many a brain cell in the double branch, and from what I hear it is pretty popular with the college kids these days.

Johnal3, If there was a place called the brass monkey in Troy it was way before my time. We had Tony's, Harvey's, the Front Porch, Cheers, and the double branch back in my day.

After the Country Kitchen shut down, two sisters opened up "Two Sisters" down 231 South....good country cooking ! Another good spot to try is Half Shell Oyster Bar & Grill right off 231 in TROY.

Didn't go to school there but a bunch of buddies did.
Used to go down on weekends and tear it up at the front porch, or back porch.
If anyone remembers the phenix city boys stopping traffic and lighting a half stick of dynamite in the street in front of the pi kap house, well, so do I.

I got my Masters from Troy in 2004. All my classes were on Gunter Annex though so I guess that is associated with what used to be called TSUM.

My brother played TE and finished with Willie Tullis. They had a pretty good team that year.

I was sitting in that Crowes restaurant the day the OJ verdict was announced over the radio. You'd have thought the kitchen crew had won the lottery the way they started cheering.

BS in Business Adm 1980 and MBA in 1983. Had lots of fun there. PLENTY of good looking women! - I think it was at least 2:1 girls to boys ratio back then. I hung out a lot at the Standard Chemical Co. (Disco in an old fertilizer plant) until it burned, Front Porch, Double Branch and the one on the SW corner of the downtown square (The Step Ahead??). I lived on Pine St across from the old abandoned hospital behind the old Delta Chi house, then Willow Terrace then Wood Dale Apts.

I started the first 7 games as a Freshman on the Troy basketball team in 1974-75. Got in an altercation with a freshman Democrat and was suspended and never played another game for the Trojans. I moved on and never regreted any of it. Wes Bizilia can KMA!

I played baseball and graduated from Troy in '13. I loved every minute of it and got to take a lot of teammates hunting for the first time. I still hunt with some of them.
