If it must be done, how long do I need to have it before gun season starts? It's in the C4-C6 area of my neck which is about the level of the top of my shoulders. I can shoot a light kicking 6.5 Grendel AR15 till it fully heals. My son is chomping at the bit to use my Sako 30.06 anyway. I want to have it done with enough time to heal before the 16 day rifle season in KY,haha.

If I remember correctly I had mine done about 6 weeks before gun season started but I wouldn't trust my memory when dealing with your spine...

I do know I killed a doe with a 30/30 before I was cleared to lift enough weight to load a deer on my 4 wheeler. I called in a club members son to come drag and load her for me.

Don't overdo it.

central ala,
I had it done with some other work. Don't recall the recovery time. Been 3-4 years. I still can't handle much recoil without getting a bad headache. 3 shots from a 25-06 is too much. Probably go down to a 243. My dove gun now is a 28 gauge. Turkey gun is 20 gauge but usually just one shot

Took me 8 weeks to get back to work. I had the same surgery last August. Best thing I ever done.

Dang Bill. Sorry to hear. God bless and best wishes for a great recovery. Before deer season.

You'll be fine by the start of Bama's gun season.

My only problem is shooting guns but that could be a different problem. Don't know if its the best thing I ever done but it has helped so much I would have had it done much sooner. Definitely worked for me.

I had C2-T2 done back in October 2013. it was super tough going and lost all range of motion in my neck from it. But by January I was pretty much healed up and on light restrictive motions. I listened to my surgeon and did everything he said and glad I did cause my house took a hit from an EF2 tornado in April 2014 and I was able to handle the mess and frustration of cleanup and rebuilding a majority of everything damaged

Well now I cant get it scheduled before Oct. 17th, which is only 3 1/2 weeks before the KY gun opener. I already paid a good chunk to hunt up there for me and my son. Think I will just call them back to put it off till the end of November. Heck I been dealing with it for 25 years , another two months should make much difference.
