Dang. How could you not tell the difference in a person kneeling and a hog? I would think it would look very odd/different from the hogs. Target identification
I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

That is sad. It sounds like the people were all hunting on their own. There should NEVER be a shot fired without knowing for certain of your target.
We hunt as a group. We do not separate. Safety is always paramount. I want my clients to have fun for sure. I want my clients to kill lots of hogs. But, they WILL always be safe first.

I agree. And, I know that people who are accustomed to it are plenty competent. And, there are some models out there now that the resolution is AMAZING! I have talked to Swamphunter and Barry both about the new Pulsar Trails units. They are impressive units!! And, I have a buddy at work who is chomping at the bit for one. Heck, I may even get one myself! Seems like a lot of fun!!!
But, I (and many others) have been concerned for some time now about the Safety aspect of the general population running around at night with God knows what kind of night-vision and shooting high-powered rifles. This was inevitable. I sure hope that people realize this and use the proper amount of Respect for the situation and possible circumstances.
I am gonna go ahead say what my gut feeling is, though. There exists a culture of people who run around with this type of gear (usually bargain basement quality) in a Commando/Rambo manner all dressed in black with knives and guns swinging. They are not hunters, or even concerned with feral hog control. They want to look tough and shoot stuff.....period! Those type people don’t consider the consequences of their actions. So, they are a danger. I do not think it is a good thing. And, I know from conversations with others, including some of this site, that I am not the only one with that concern.
