Horrific. Not sure how else to describe it.

Fished with a bass club buddy and a guide on Friday from 7-2. Left out of Waterfront and fished main lake ledge stuff from Roseberry to South Sauty to Seibold. Between the three of us we caught about 15 fish with 2 of them being keepers.

Fished my club tourney Sat. We had 12 boats. Think 10 lbs won on the boater side with 8 and 5 finishing 2nd and 3rd. The co-anglers fared better with 12 lbs winning and 10 lbs getting second. Big fish was 5 something. I managed 1 keeper and my partner managed 1 keeper.

We had the lake all to ourselves. I can't remember seeing as few boats on a Saturday at Guntersville in my life. It's like everyone knew something that we didn't. I really don't like this lake. Every time we fish it, it sucks.

Crazy thing was the Snagproof frog tournament was there, and usually that's a big deal. Took over 20 lbs to win, buddies of mine finished 18th with about 13-1/2 lbs.

They must have been WAY up river or something. We had a couple of blow ups in the back of Alred's, but that was it for the frog. I don't remember anyone saying they caught a frog fish Saturday, but the majority of us fished the lower end.

I had a rough afternoon Sunday. I was all around fish but just could not make them eat. I even had 2-3 blowups on the old faithful Whopper Plopper and they missed it. Blowup on a Ribbit. Miss. Light bite on a swim jig. Miss. I think it'll get better in a week or 2. But they was in a funky mood for me too.

When the frog bite got tough on wheeler I'd rig a fluke about 20 inches behind it. Just wiggle it up to the blow hole and hang on.

You had the lake all to yourselves because everybody else was at Honeycomb.

I'm just a lowly crappie fisherman but if I'z a bass fisherman and fishing grass mats, it would be grass mats adjacent to the river channel....
