Is that possible at logan martin? Were you stripe fishing or bass fishing?

Crappie fishing. I tried the columns under 78 bridge and the RR bridge. No bites. I watch him catch them and try it myself with no luck. I haven't bass fished all summer.

That son of a gun can sure catch Crappie. I asked him a question about what rig he was using in one of his videos and he replied and told me the rod, reel, and jig combo. He was using a 1/64 ounce jig head. I think the light jig head is real important but I haven't found any yet that don't have #8 or #10 hooks.

I watched that video too.... he was around the rock columns in front of city docks in Gadsden. Hey, watch his video where he was using live crawfish on Weiss in the bitter cold Winter! Logan (and Neely) has sucked for me all year. I flat zero'd bass fishing about two weeks ago, I couldn't even catch one on finesse crap under a boat dock!! Started to put my boat up for sale!

My buddy that fishes logan every weekend for crappie hasn't caught a limit all summer combined. He thinks something happened to them cause he can't even catch a under size fish. He is lucky to catch one every few weeks but they are normally big ones. He wears the small spots and stripe out though.

I wonder if all the rain we had this summer threw off their summer pattern and this was a cooler August than I can remember in awhile.

Logan has fell off in the past 4 or 5 years. 5 or 6 years ago it was common to go out by myself and catch 60 crappie and half of them be keepers in 3 to 4 hours. About 3 years ago it started taking me 6 or 7 hours to catch a limit. In the past 2 years if I fished 5 hours and caught half a limit I was pretty happy. I have had days where I didn't catch a crappie.

It sucked BAD this evening.

Won't be long till they will start chewing on the old 3/8 war eagle double willow. I like a yumbrella on those long flats out there too. I may try to go Friday.

We went from about 4:00 till dark yesterday. Mainly around the Choccolocco area. I think between the two of us we caught 9 fish, mostly small spots. Did have two largemouths about 2# apiece, pretty much all the fish came from the grass. They would NOT hit a buzzbait, period!

Logan is chock full of the little spots. I like hitting docs and grass with a blade and a green pumpkin 3/8oz jig with a blue rage craw. Seems like the bigger spots go for the jig over the blade.

Went to Logan again yesterday from about 2:00 till 6:00, caught 12 total fish and about half of them were 2 pounds or bigger. Water was 80 degrees though, last time I went it was right at 70 degrees. All but two of the fish came from shallow docks, like really shallow. NOTHING from the grass, and we fished a pretty good bit of grass. Other two fish we caught on a drop shot in about 15' of water.

The only time I seem to get a good bite on Logan Martin is when they are pulling water or shortly thereafter. Otherwise, it is really spotty.
