Pettway won't make it all season at this pace if Johnson doesn't get back to relieve him. Taking Stidham, Pettway, and Johnson out of a bad offense then we might see a new level of bad.

We have a backup Qb in Willis that they wanted to redshirt. He was actually moved to 3rd string except for the RS. He is a dumb ast and likes to party and it was just a public intox so really no big deal but was probably the last straw. They had problems with him before the Ga game last year.

For the record too, under Alabama law there is more to a Public Intoxication arrest than just being drunk. In a nutshell you have to be drunk to the point of being a danger to yourself or others. I don't know what he did but whatever it was it was more than just typical college student drunk.

Yeah! He was just coming off a 2 day suspension for an undetermined violation of team rules(I heard he failed a drug test). Suspension heck no! Kick him off the team and lets move on. I believe in giving people a second chance but at some point the hammer must fall!

Clem, as I seem to recall he had a one game suspension last year but no one ever made an issue of it and assumed he was resting his shoulder or some other minor injury. When it happened and most were assuming an injury, I had heard that it was a one game suspension. Gus isn't big on giving details so it never was cleared up before some other drama took the focus elsewhere.

I figured it was either the third strike or Gus didn't care for him thumbing his nose in his face publicly just a week or so after coming off suspension.

Either way, he gone.


Also, you have to be REALLY hammered or REALLY stupid or both to be loud enough at 2:45 am outside the city police headquarters to get their attention. Geese!
