It really is the Saban effect. LSU couldn't stomach finishing 2nd so they fired LES. Georgia did the same thing with Richt. Florida was good until Meyer left. Ole Miss was becoming a real force until Freeze and his staff got caught making it rain and the list goes on.

I'm dang glad Bama ain't playing in Starkville tonight. MSU looks better than anybody so far this season.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

The whole league is down but I haven't seen a single team in the whole country that I think is just fantastic.

Bama ain't looking that great. Can't get a pass rush and thin at the backer positions. Definitely not the D of last year and not sure they can get there.

I've been most impressed by Mississippi State after tonight. But there is still a lot of football to be played. I think we will know more about all of them this time next month.

That recent success got turned off pretty quick last time, right? They are kinda the more white-trash version of TAM without the money. Start off strong, but die quick. Shut down Fitzgerald and then what - heck just limit him and they are done. We've seen this play out before. Ol' humpback can't keep it together for an entire season.

I believe they have quite a few more weapons this go round than Dak had with him. I'm not saying they're Bama good, but they certainly have some talent and will win quite a few games. Believe they have GA next week. That will be a good Litmus test for both schools.

Yep, worst I've ever seen it. It was much worse in the mid to late 80's.

Was it just me or did the Tide look sluggish??? Looked to me like they were waiting for the play to unfold before they moved to the ball like it was a complete mystery as to what was happening...may have been part of the strategy too..who knows?? They got the W is what counts.

Oklahoma is better than anyone they will play. Whose #4?? I would think the lack of competition will hurt some teams in the playoffs seeing a real team for the first time and facing adversity.

I think that's a pretty good analysis. Oklahoma might be the most explosive team I've seen so far but they also might just be pretenders. I'm pretty sure Alabama will be in the playoff. Other than that I really don't know. No one just looks like they couldn't be beaten.

Lsu and ole miss suck so everyone else sucks ^^ You must have missed my accolades for State and Georgia in the post you quoted above. So tell me, who else is good? Vandy? Florida? Auburn? USCe? Who, in your opinion, would be the top 5 teams and could transfer over and be competitive in the Big 10? The ACC? Big 12? I actually think most of your responses are thought out and rational, so I'm serious when I'd like to know your thoughts.

Is the ACC now the top conference? I would say at least the top 5 in the ACC are arguably better than any other conference's 5.

Just analyzing JBC's 5. LSU is on the verge of falling out of the rankings at #25. Florida is average at best due to its offense. I think Miami will crack the top ten by year's end. Last year's bowl records for SEC; 6-6. ACC bowl record; 8-3.
