It's stupid, but we used to do the same kinda stuff in the Sipsey swamps. As long as it keeps running and water doesn't get in your snorkels, it's fine. Not smart or responsible, but people build these things intentionally for that kind of stuff.

I burned a motor up in a yamaha because I got too deep into a mud hole and water got in the motor. After that, I always put snorkels on just to be safe. Sometimes you don't go down a trail in a while and a hole gets deeper, it's smart to have snorkels if you ride in areas like that

There are (or used to be) some holes on the "roads" in the Sipsey Forever Wild place that would swallow an ATV whole.
