message boards have it a done deal. not surprising imo with the trouble psu will have going forward...makes osu looks like a monestary.

Message boards are a great source of information. You hear the one about Spurrier coming to Bama back in the day? Just my 2 cents.

Why would he go back to coaching? Didn't he retire (twice) for health reasons? Did he not learn from going back last time? He is still making some serious coin working for ESPN. He can't need the money.

Coaches coach. They don't sit on the sidelines and talk.

Bob Davie finally got back in to coaching. Who would ever have thought a former Notre Dame coach would get hired at New Mexico?

Unless there are some kind of skeletons that keep them from the sideline, coaches eventually come back. Gruden will leave ESPN at some point, too. Mike Leach will return somewhere.

Meyer will come back.

IMO, urban, before the meltdown, was the best coach in college football. If he can handle the stress he will have Ohio St in a bcs bowl every year.

imo, urban (while he had tebow) was the best coach in football. Urban w/out tebow = malzahn w/out newton (funny how great players make coaches look great). Only reason bama beat him in '09 was because they made him beat them with his arm. Urban couldn't/didn't adjust.

Urban didn't do anything significant pre-Tebow?

Ever?

If Urban, comes back after one year, it tells me there was more going on at Florida then we will ever know.

His scheme put utah on the map..but he also had a tremendous qb there too didn't he? Even though he put them on the map, he did it like boise did/does...very weak schedule. Then able to get up for that 1 or 2 big games a year. The kid at uf was good, but wouldn't have won that mnc w/out tebow (imo). His scheme is very workable w/ an athletic qb.

You don't attract crappy players with outstanding coaches and strategies.

Does Saban have terrible players? Did Meyer have terrible players at Utah and Florida?

No. They attract stars, develop them and win. He'd do the same at OSU. Saban did it at Kent State and Meyer did it at Western Kentucky or whatever backwater he was at before Utah.

Meyer will be back somewhere soon, though I've not heard about Ohio State. Wouldn't surprise me. He'll field a highly competitive team wherever he ends up at.

Clem, spot on.

I get a kick out of the dumbasses who always try and tear down AU's NC by saying " they only won it because they had cam" . No team wins a NC without great players. Coaching is integral to success but can't succeed without good players. Why does saban put so much effort into recruiting? Because its the numbered one ingredient necessary for success.

Not trying to 'tear down AU's NC' but the only reason awbren won the thing last year was bc of Cam. He single handedly won a couple of games that Caudle or Trotter wouldn't have and with those as losses, AU wouldn't have played for it. I do agree that Cam is a freak...enjoying watching him in the pros.

I agreed with your dumbass, but that'll be the last time I do. He was a great coach..IMO (that's in my opinion for you dumbasses), but I gave an opinion that Tebow is what made him great. Again, it was just an opinion. What exactly did he do when he was at utah, wku, anywhere else...he didn't win any mnc's. Chizik/malzahn won't either...unless they can find another cam.

Tebow contributed greatly to Meyer's success, but wasn't the sole reason he's a great coach.

Meyer-Florida -- Won to the 2006 national championship with a team that was in the preseason Top 10 in many polls, following a 9-3 season in 2005, and had great players ... who came because of great coaching strategies, history and beautiful chicks crawling around the Gainesville campus. Won another title and was in the mix for others.

Meyer-Utah - the team never had done anything significant, but he recruited well and put them in contention for the BCS title. Finished his final season 12-0 with a Fiesta Bowl win, the first appearance in a BCS bowl by a non-AQ school. Since then, Utah has beaten Alabama but haven't done much else.

Meyer-Bowling Green - Compiled a 17-6 record in two seasons at a school that traditionally does zilch. Championship? No. But BG never did as much before or after he was there.

I agree with you about Chiz/Malz not winning another c'ship. Newton was a special player who won some games for them they would have lost.

They only won because of cam? So if fairley or Dyer goes down they still win it with just cam? It
amazes me how a fans hatred for another team
can make them say such stupid things. Ok, lets
say that cam was the whole team and the rest weren't any factor at all ( I feel like a retard just typing that ). Does it count less in the record books or is it just something bama fans say to soothe the burn?

Try and keep up...AU won a couple of games last year that they wouldn't have if someone else were QB and it kept their NC hopes alive. IMO, Caudle nor Trotter were capable of some of the heroics and athleticism that Cam displayed in a couple of games. They couldn't have made the throws against Clemson or Bama to say the say the least. Fairley and Dyer were/are great players and contributed to the last year's success but not with the same magnitude as your Heisman trophy winner.

Soooo, they won a couple games because of great play from a great player. That makes it worth less? You don't think Alabama could credit a couple of their umpteen NC to the same thing? Any way you spin it it is just bama fans petty way of trying to pacify themselves that it will never happen again. The same thing they always said before it did happen.

If you think Auburn would have won the NC last year without Cam you are either a blind homer or don't know sh$t about football. Either way you are an idiot.

Bama had tremendous defenses that helped those players win. Auburn had to outscore their opponents and Cam is what allowed them to do that. Yes the Auburn D played well against Oregon but there were quite a few games where Cam put the entire team on his back and won.

Cam was not the only reason AU won the 2010 National Championship, but they sure as heck wouldn't have won it without him.

I am not so sure you can say the same about any other single player on the roster...or coach for that matter.

...and since the NCAA cleared AU/Cam, I have never seen anyone that says the c'ship is "worth any less" than any other. That is just hater paranoia speaking. ...mean ole Bammers trying to keep Auburn down.

Alabama never came close to sniffing a championship with Bart Starr at qb.

Funny how Urban had to get away from the game, get back to his family, whatever...

He ran the hell away from the SEC and now he is ready to go again. Is he all healthy now? Family getting boring?

He jumped off of a sinking ship and tried to blame it on other reasons. LMAO.

Just saw him state that he had not been offered a job: as such he wasn't going to OSU.
