Sending Chip to the booth so that Gus can take complete reigns of that high powered offense.

Not sure we would have been able to tell the difference in placalling from Chip or Gus. I think Chip was 5-7 last year. He can probably call shitty plays too.

High school coach at Colbert Heights and Spain Park. (See the hiring pattern)

Then he was OC at some shitty PAC 10 school I think.

He came up through the High School ranks and was hired at Auburn as an analyst in 2012 before being hired at Southern Miss as OC for a couple years. He left there and went to Arizona State as OC and was there until Malzahn called.

High School coach hires a high school coach to run a high school offense; I get it now.
What could go wrong?

First step fire Jacobs, hire new AD and let him deal with the football coach's situation. For the record, I'm all for Tuberville for AD. I think that job suits his skill set nicely.

Everyone seems to forget that Al Borges is an offensive analyst, too.

Former AU OC back in the Tuberville days. So there's three offensive gurus with their ladles in the soup.

If that is true, the situation is worse than it appears....

Wasn't it Al's wife that brokered the under armor deal? I'm thinking yes, and she stayed with the program in her marketing role after he was let go?

That's the way I remember it too, but she finally left when he went elsewhere.

Some times it hurts to laugh about your team, but this tickles me.
May be a great year for AU's rivals.

Lindsey's a good play caller and I've told the AU fans he was going to be good, so it was really bothering me with the "who called the plays talk". So I spoke to someone this morning and confirmed exactly what Jawbone was hearing from the big dogs at practice that while Chip initially pulled the bus out of the parking lot in the Clemson game, Gus was the one actually driving the bus, not Lindsey, and it was Gus that jumped in and called the red zone plays early in the game. From there it was pretty much the Gus show.

I knew when they went for it on 4th down and called that stupid deep pass, only needing 3 yds, and Chip pulled his headset off and turned around and walked away from the sidelines without even watching the outcome of the play, that Gus had called it. I think that is what earned Lindsey a spot in the press box where everyone cannot see his displeasure on national TV and figure out that yes, Gus is still calling the offensive plays.

It's good for Bama but I'm convinced that AU is totally screwed if y'all cannot not get him gone or at least under control and letting the OC and DC call the games.

I knew there was no way in hell that Gus would turn over offensive play calling to anyone else. Gus is an offensive Mastermind, genius, guru, etc. Too big of an ego to let it go. Keep on keeping on Gus, it will all work itself out.

I don't know about it being good for Bama, but the situation doesn't look good for AU and Gus. Honestly the softball thing has me more concerned.

I'll start the bidding for uncle Rico at a 2015 Charger.

I think AL Borges is the best offensive mind Auburn has over there, dude was good when he was the OC there, of course that's when u had Cadillac, R'Brown, and good Wide Receivers

All you can say is Gus knows his job is on the line. If he messes it up, he has no one to blame but himself. It won't be Dye's fault, Jacob's fault, Yella Fella, or anyone else but him. He knew the stakes going into the season. It is still early yet and losing one game to a very good team isn't what is as bad as the fact that Lindsey was seemingly not involved in the play calling. That makes me more frustrated than losing to what looks to be a very good team.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Man anyone can call plays when you have studs at RB and WR. Not to mention QB. IMO QB is what has GUS in the place he's in.

Good for him, bad for AU.

Gus is the Obama of college football.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
