Should the wild hog population in Alabama be eradicated or should it be kept down to a manageable level? What are the pro's and con's of both? I know personally I've fed a lot of people with the hogs I've killed but after all day of bush hogging and seeing the damage they're doing to my property I've come to these questions.

Since i like hunting them, id like to manage the population so they dont cause so much damage. But id like to keep huntibg them.

It's possible to put a huge dent in the pig population. If there was a $80 per tail bounty and land owners were financially incentivized to open up and let hunters eradicate pigs, the population would be hit HARD. Not hogs, but the same general idea of a financial bounty. https://wildlife.utah.gov/predator-control-program.htmlNot saying it would be practical or cheap but it is possible

I remember back in the 70's and 80's my uncles talking about different people killing hogs on yellow and clifty creeks so I know they've been around for a long time.

Other than humans the only thing that kills them with regularity would be alligators.
I would rather not have either gators or hogs around tho...
