Recovery software. It's basically free these days. Used to cost a thousand bucks or so. When images are deleted they still exist, they are allowed to be overwritten. Software
Is so good it can go back several generations to recover images.

Sandisk had a free recovery download at one time.

It's not a 100% thing. I had a tech buddy of mine donit for me a while back. I didn't even know it was possible till he heard me bitching about accidentally deleting some pics.

Im pretty sure you just hook an USB cable up to your camera and hook it to your computer. The pictures are on the hard drive of your camera as well as the card.

Just guessing, but I was told that before.

Id like to hear from him ( the OP) and see how he did it.

Depends on the software. How the drive is deleted/formatted etc...

Some agencies have some serious recovery software that can garner info from the Memory etc... Think why Hillary smashed there HDs with hammers.

I was a full-time pro photog, went digital when it became viable in the early 2000s. The first time I'd heard of recovery software a friend that owns a sports photog business had a corrupt micro drive. He paid $3000 for a german software to try and recover the drive. He got most of the images back. Recovery software has come a long way.

Had another friend that had a 1T drive fail, he paid a few hundred to have that drive recovered. He got things that were deleted years ago. He then for the heck of it ran the free software and recovered the same things.

It's easier than you think. I have few free recovery disk still laying around.

I have a friend that has access to the best software needed to recover data from any device. When he gave me the card back he had restored 5027 pics all the way back to the year 2012.

LOL..... Trust me I not mad and hunting isn't a competition to me. I just wanted to hear some of the ideas yall had at getting back at a dumbarse roaming the woods messing with other peoples property. I would never do anything to harm anyone or mess with their property. I think I will text him a different pic of himself everyday for the next month. LOL......

It amazes me at the number of people that think this way. How would you feel if you came up to your truck parked in a public parking lot and a dude was going thru your tool box or bed of truck? When you asked what he was doing his response is "well its in a public parking lot"

retrieving data from an sd card that has been deleted:

several ways, cnet has a good set of instructions.
https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-recover-deleted-photos-from-a-memory-card/

but there are many tools available for free for use.

If you have the guy's email address, you can use a one time email address generator to send a copy of it to him.

Put a bear trap under the camera. Then he can justify his disability. He'll be legit crippled.

sorry mr. Clif for phrasing my comments as I did. What I meant that it would do you no good to report it. I hate someone that would steal from another but it happens every minute of the day in this new world. My friend who used to hunt in reserves was in the habit of placing 2 cameras one high in a tree to catch someone who would steal the other or steal your climber that was left.

I know when i leave a cam on public hunting grounds that im taking a stupid chance on someone stealing or messing with it. When i park my vehicle i take the same chance. Thats why i dont leave anything valuable in my vehicle. Everytime i walk back to my truck i look around it while im praying that all the glass will still be intact and the rest ok. It sucks to worry but thats the price i have to pay to hunt that land. So far i have been really lucky. I have seen some guys stuck in mud holes. They come back with help and every window is knocked out. Its pathetic that some get enjoyment out of vandalism. I know not to get stuck and leave your truck around Ditto Landing in Huntsville. Over the years i have seen quite a few stuck in mud with windows knocked out. Especially the road west of Ditto that follows the river bank. Never leave your vehicle around there. Its terrible. Friend had a stand stolen out of his truck parked under the 231 bridge on morgan county side. We was gone for 30 minutes, broad daylight. $50 stand and broke $100 window. Cant park or leave anything these days without trouble. They had to put a gate up on Hobbs Island rd that was a rite of way to access tva land. Cause folks was making meth at the tva gate i guess. Screwed me out of a close hunting spot by my house. Now its a real pain to access that land. Ridiculous. But to the original topic id mail him pictures of him messin with cam like someone else said. And thank him for not stealing the cam. Or ask him where is the key to the new lock you gave me since he was afraid my original lock was not good enough!!!
