A seasoned test is simple , as you posted gun safety is important. Safety on and breach open after you shoot. Your dog should be able to run a short simple double. And a short blind 40 to 50 yards. The blind will
Be outside to of the marks so a dog that hasn't been trained through old falls , suction , looking past gunners and all won't have a problem. You will
Have a walk up or walk out mark (steadiness) and a diversion bird. Your control must be seasoned level control so the dog should show you some what decent control but not perfect. You will have a land series and a water series. All in all seasoned test are nothing to be completely honest. You will be fine and good luck

id like to of ran just for fun. I got my HRCH 4-5 yrs ago but wouldn't mind getting some points. Me and the dog have been outa the game for a couple years and I'd just be making a donation if I showed up with my breaking a$$ dog.

Good luck to those running, it sure is a fun game to play. I may swing by with my daughter to holler at Butch and some of the other I hadn't seen in a little while.

If I do I'll look for some of you guys that will be there.

Look forward to meeting some of you guys. I have a lot to learn, but I have an amazing dog so he makes up for me being a beginner.

We passed! Very proud of Archer. Judge said he may be the first Border Collie to pass a HRC seasoned test. I got very nervous with the first bird of the day, i think it started to turn bad and it took over 90 sec to get him to pick it up even though he was standing right over it. But rest of the runs he ran well, and habdled very well. And I met one aldeer member there who had some passed of his own, Congrats to him. And good to meet you.

We saw Archer run Saturday. Ya'll did good. We were surprised at "that border collie" for doing so well. If I'd known it was you up there, I would have introduced myself as an ALDEER member.
Good luck finishing him!
