I signed up for some of the Fred T. Stimpson and Cedar Creek Hunts.

I threw my name in the hat for a few at cedar creek as well as waterfowl up in high jackson

I signed up for the 10/26 bow hunts on the Dallas and Russell locations, plus the November muzzleloader hunt at the Russell location, and I think the Jan 28 gun hunt at the Dallas location.

Are they doing any turkey draws on these "soa's"?

Signed up for all Cedar Creek hunts & got a buddy to do the same so we can go as each other's guest if one of us doesnt get picked.

When y'all registered for hunts, did it list them under my registration status? Mine is not showing any even though it would show the green message saying successful every time I clicked on one.

Yes. They show up under "My Hunt Registrations". It also has a little orange box out to the side for "unregister".

FWIW, mine didn't go through on the first attempt either. I thought I was registered and a buddy of mine said he was able to see his registration. I went back and did it a second time and then it showed up under my registrations.

Just for the record, that is the most idiotic sign up process I ever seen. That being said, I signed up me and a buddy for Cedar Creek like everyone else in the state has done apparently. Not too worried if I don't get picked. Got a lot more land in DC to hunt this year. This may have been answered alread, but are you allowed to go out there now and do any scouting?

How would you propose it be different? I've applied for tags in Iowa and it's pretty much the same process. You pick the date and location that is convent for you.

This is a very good area and in a rare moment I will commend ADRNC for having limited access instead of a public land free for all. At least it is a good idea in theory.

I agree with you David. It may just be my phone but the way you pick out the areas, they are not in any order and some are there, and some are not. 2nd time I went back to it, the site didn't work at all. Buddy of mine couldn't get it to work either.

Shocking. The DCNR's website is jacked up. It seems like every time they do something new it is like this.

I'm in for all the Cedar Creek hunts. We shall see.

Are there roads to navigate into the SOA? How would you know if you accidentally crossed over into someone elses hunt area?

Seriously, it's a great question and I was wondering the same thing. Seems most folks won't be overly familiar with the area.I can't see them marking each individual area....

I will not get a CID. I like to be difficult. They take more power each year.

Gotta love all the complaining. The state makes prime hunting property in our state available to all hunters for no additional cost and by golly we are gonna find something to moan about. Heck you don't even have to buy your license to register, just have your ID number.

They may as well start a Preference Point process now, just like the Gator tags. I can hear the whining already!

If i get fracked for ten years on this to yea im gonna be pissed. Oh and the preference points are bulldoodoo as far as I've seen.

Was trying to sign my son (11) up for one of the youth hunts. Got his CID # and was about to register under his name and then saw this in the first sentence of registration rules.

"To register for this hunt you must be 16 years old or older and have a Conservation ID (CID)".

Does this mean I have to register under my name? There is a chance I may not be able to get off work and if that's the case I was planning for his granddad to take him. If it's registered in my name would that be possible?

Also, if my name is drawn for youth hunt, how would that affect other hunts I may want to apply for....or vice versa?

I would contact dcnr about that. If he has a CID I would assume he could register for these hunts under your name...

No... My bad, I meant did you get the email about the signup process being screwed up? I got one that said you might have to log in and redo your selections because they had some sort of glitch on their system? I know it was not till next month btw.

This. It's easy. Grow a pair and do it, or don't. Better chance for the rest of us.

Y'all ever hunt outside of Alabama? This is so simplistic compared to applying for out of state tags...it makes my head hurt how you could complain about this.
